Sudanese army, rebels clashes in northern Darfur
November 20, 2008 (EL-FASHER) – New fighting erupted today in northern Darfur between the government troops and the rebels. The two sides speak about heavy causalities inflicted on the other party.
The clashes occurred eight days after the declaration of unilateral cessation of hostilities made by the president Omer Al-Bashir and five days after fighting between the armed forces and the rebel Justice and equality Movement in Koriba, northern Darfur.
The Sudanese army spokesperson Brigadier Osman Al-Agbash said today that they killed 30 rebels during clashes with the Sudan Liberation Army –Unity in Half in northern Darfur. However, the SLA led by Adel Wahid Al-Nur commander for northern Darfur Suleiman Marjan said they killed 40 government soldiers during the fighting.
“We also captured 2 government soldiers” he added.
The rebel commander speaking late on Thursday told Sudan Tribune they lost 8 fighters while 5 civilians were also killed during the aerial bombing.
Marjan claimed that two villages were destructed by the bombing of the Antonovs and helicopters and more than ten thousand are displaced following the fighting. “The civilians are now wandering in the desert” he added because they would not to GoS’s controlled area.
The two villages are Dairi Shagi and Oum Al-Wadi.
Sudanese army spokesperson Al-Aghbash described the clashes as an attack on his forces, who repelled the rebels and took two of their vehicles, according to a statement published on the official Sudan News Agency.
He also said they lost one soldier and two solders were injured.
The United Nations has said that 300000 thousands of people have been killed and more than 2 million others were forced from their homes, most taking shelter in makeshift camps along the Chad-Sudan border.

Sudanese army, rebels clashes in northern Darfur
I thank the Justice Equality Movement for what they has done of defeating Sudan Army Force and killing 40.keep on and teach them so that they should not attempt to attack your forces.
This is unconditional ceasefire announced by selfish Basher in order to withdraw world attention that he has committed to peace in war torn Darfur region but it is now show what they have planned.
This is what they use to do during the 21 years war between them and the SPLA where the promise for peace and attack to takes towns.
I therefore pledge to the ICC not to delay Basher indictment because the more you delay the more he plan for attack.
many people fears that ICC can let South- North PCA follow apart but Basher will not able to destroy it if he does he lose power because the current SPLA are well equip.
LONG LIVE JEM! LONG LIVE THE PEOPLE OF DARFUR.
