Blue Nile dismisses reports about NGOs’ expulsion

November 29, 2008 (KHARTOUM) — The leading member of the SPLM and governor of Blue Nile State, Malik Aggar, denied press reports he had threatened to expel NGOs from his state.

Some Arabic language newspapers reported that the governor had warned to drive out the non governmental organizations if they do not hire their local staff from the Bleu Nil.

Aggar how ever dismissed these reports saying the Blue Nile appreciates the services produced by these organizations in the state.

The governor further said the Blue Nile is in urgent need of any form of development and therefore it is illogical that he can order the expulsion of organizations which provide development services to the residents of the state.
