Sanaa forum countries to meet in Khartoum
December 8, 2008 (KHARTOUM) — Leaders of the Sanaa Cooperation Forum, comprising Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan and, Yemen will meet in the Sudanese capital on December 30 to discuss regional issues.
The six-year-old Saana Grouping, named after the Yemeni capital, is aimed at enhancing security, political and economic cooperation in the volatile region.
The summit will discuss implementation of earlier agreements, ties between the countries like cooperation against terrorism, fighting against illegal trade Somalia and Darfur crisis.
The meeting will be preceded by experts meeting on the 27-28 December and the ministerial meeting on the 29 December.
This is the second time where the Sudanese capital hosts the four countries forum. Somalia joined the group at Khartoum summit on the end of December 2004.
