Uganda, South Sudan and Congo attack LRA rebels
December 14, 2008 (KAMPALA) — Troops from Southern Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, launched a joint military operation Sunday morning against the rebel Lord’s Resistance Army base (LRA) in eastern DR Congo, a joint statement said.
The Ugandan President urged military action against the rebel leader Joseph Kony after the later rejection to a two year negotiated peace agreement that southern Sudan government had mediated. But last week he pledged to not attack the LRA after a meeting with the top negotiator of the rebel group.
The three armies launched an attack on the LRA camp in Garamba forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The joint force “successfully attacked the main body and destroyed the main camp of Kony code-named camp Swahili, setting it on fire,” the statement said.
There no further details about the attack or the fate of Joseph Kony who refused three times since last April to sign the final peace agreement with the Ugandan government.
The elusive rebel leader asked to defer an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court despite the reassurances by Kampala that if he signs they would not hand him over to The Hague and they would seek a UN resolution to block the ICC jurisdiction.
The Vice-President of southern Sudan government and the chief mediator had expressed opposition in the past to the military action against the rebels. He always repeated that a negotiated solution is the best way to end the 21 year conflict in northern Uganda.
The Sudanese First Vice President and head of southern Sudan government had since January 2007 warned military action against the Ugandan rebels and said that the LRA were a threat to Sudanese citizens in the Equatoria and a threat for peace and stability in the south.

Exactly to my plan. Three hands of SPLA/M, UPDF and FARDC together and LRA down. Konyi must be capture alive and brought to the eyes of the sufferers before he got handed to ICC for his final destination of lifetime. Joining this three hands is the only solution to stop Riek from getting richer with the blood of Greater Equatoria people. This pursuit of fake LRA is a right solution of bringing better settlement to the people of Ug, SS and DRC. Mr Riek have been acting silly by supportiing his friend Konyi, telling him directions where people are living when an attack is to be place against LRA. But today onword i believe that there is no more chance of his dreams of becoming prosperous with the cold blood shed of Greater Equatoria people. The brave Greater Equatorians people will protect their region from those LRA and later it will be time for looney dinkas who claim themselves to be IDPs. If your born stupid please remain where you are, don’t go into someone’s house and cause problems to yourself or others. be in your hut and do whatever you want. This statement is straightforward to the growing situation in Greater Equatoria which is just been done purposely to bring a big DIVISION within people, states and government in general.

Co-operation is so nice. LRA should not disturb Greater Equatoria for they are not rebelling against any Equatorial government or SS!
Good enough that you have convinced your junior Riek Machar Teny. Negotiation was not bad only that it could not be possible and we Southerners do not like working on impossibikllities. LRA peace deal is now futile like other peace deals which have gone long ago. Machar will negotiate any other possible deal next time but this chance has already gone.

Some few may be from Equatoria but majority are from Dinka, Nuer not because they are brave and Equatorians being coward (timid) but it is because they are having greater number which is expected to remain greater at wars, deaths and leadership. Troops have no blames because they act like dogs sent by their masters.Out of the three chiefs of military intelligence,only Brig.James Mugira(UPDF) has the head with the brain in it for he knows that the operation will not affect his citizens in any way since the LRA is not in his territory.Operation means alot to the life of the innocent civilians unless the bullets will be requested to go to Uganda instead of Sudan and DRC.If Brig.Mutual majok is directed by the president of southern Sudan,then the president must be having the most emptiest head.

Well done to the three countries armies for their actions against Kony and it will also open the way for these three states to works together on issues that affects them and their people but makes sure that you provides a higher security now to the civilians populations and roads passengers of these three country from notorious LRA otherwise the will committe more problems than they usual .
