Sudan, China discuss political and economic relations

December 24, 2008 (KHARTOUM) — A delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) concluded today a three day visit to Sudan where it held political and economic talks with the Sudanese officials.

Led by Chen Jiwa, deputy secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPC, the Chinese delegation was invited by the ruling National Congress Party (NCP).

The visiting delegation held talks with the Sudanese officials on economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi region and Sudan, especially in the fields of agriculture and sugar industry.

The Chinese delegation met with the presidential adviser and NCP Secretary for foreign relations Mustafa Osman Ismail, minister of agriculture Al-Zubair Bashir Taha, minister of finance Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz, and the governor of the Khartoum state, Abdel Halim Al Mutaafi.

The Sudanese officials hailed the positive participation of China in the construction in Sudan, and thanked the indelible contribution of China in the economic development in Sudan.

While, the Chinese delegation appreciated the smooth development of the relations between China and Sudan, and thanked the valuable support of the NCP for China on issues such as human rights, Taiwan and Tibet.
