Bahrain Air to increase weekly flights to Khartoum

January 1, 2009 (MANAMA) — Bahrain Air said it would increase its direct flights to Sudan during this new year. The Manama based carrier inaugurated on December 16 its 14th destination, Khartoum.

Ibrahim Abdulla Al-Hamer Bahrain Air’s Managing Director said “Bahrain Air plans to increase its fight to Khartoum in the coming months he underscored that it would reach six flights per week.

The Sudanese market is considered by the Gulf airliners as a promising market because of many of the Sudanese residing the Gulf states in general, the national carrier Sudan Airways has failed to provide the necessary plans to satisfy the demand.

Al Hamer pledged to reduce the waiting time for the transit passengers form different destination to be more attractive.

Air Bahrain, the newest carrier in the Gulf, is launched in July 2007 with two airplanes. Since, it expanded its flights to 14 destinations and owns an important fleet of aircrafts composed mainly from Airbus 320 and A319 planes.
