Jonglei Governor pledges roads constructions on his return to Bor

By Philip Thon Aleu

January 23, 2009 (BOR) – The long awaited connection of Jonglei capital Bor Town to counties headquarters is due to begin this month, Governor Kuol Manyang has said.

Governor Gen. Kuol was briefing State Ministers on Friday on his return from Juba. South Sudan Ministry of Roads and Transport has reportedly released $3 million for the construction of roads linking Bor to Pibor, and Ayod to Wad and continuing to Akobo.

The meeting, which was closed to independent reporters after taking photos, also discussed strategies to end clashes between Lou Nuer and Dinka Bor’s Duk communities through peace conference.

ASCOM Company will implement road construction seen by Jonglei government as a breakthrough to most constraints including insecurity. Jonglei needs 1,600 miles (2574 km) to connect all the Counties to Bor Town but Sudan Tribune won’t independently establish the length to be met this year.

Only 200 miles (321km) of the road is accessible during rainy seasons connecting Bor to Twic East, Duk and Ayod counties.

In a related development, works on roads within Bor Town began earlier this month in surveyed areas in a move citizens say is a show of commitment by State authorities.

OH my dear people of Jonglei, it like this, the Governor Kuol Manyang has failed to bring the state insecurity undercontrol which is disturb by Murle and Lou Nuer.

as he has mentioned that the problems of insecurity will solved through dialogue while Lou Nuer and murle has a support in the SPLA and Khartoum particularly from former defactor Riek Machar and Ismail Konyi to drive away Dinka from East to west while there is Nuer in the west as Dinka as do and murle speaking tribles in our Eastern Equatotia namely Boya, Didiga and Lopit. this claning policy was brought up by such stupid people that I have mentioned above and their aim is to take control to Equatorian States which they have seen as weak and they will not confront them when they have dicided loot the villages and abaduction of the childern.

my dear governor if you failed to bring pecace in the state why do you want missled the people of that state and promised them with development and your element Bor native were proud of you in the time of your appoittment. I think you have seen the situation of your people.

what I know so far from your state there are number of people does not want the stability of that state because they are interest in governorship position. they always miss inform their communities to fight others communities so that they are seen threat and this kind of behaviour began during the war where those who break away are commission to others rank for sack of his people so that they stay in the SPLA. THE name of people who are causing the problem in Jonglei are:
    1-Majok Ayom Door -Bor GOK
    2-Maker Deng Malou-Duk HOL
    3-John Luk Jok -Waat LOU
    4-Marshall Stephen- Pibor MURLE
    5-Majak Agoot Atem-Twice- Pakeer
    6-Ismail Konyi-pibor MURLE
    7-Peter Wal Athieu-Bor GOK
    8-Maker Chol Adol- Bor Gok
and many more that I have not mentioned. Also they were not expecting that Philip Thon Will be replace by Kuol Manyang. the evidence was seen when pakeer went and attack Duk people to show that the governor is weak and of them put their arugement on deputy governor by telling mr Thon where get this from.

I would like advice that you can have a development while people are dying everyday. and if you want to have development deployed some SPLA FORCES and police in the borders of your communities

Iam not from your State and I know every communities in detail believe me

I am directly writing to this foolish so called minister of Roads and Transport. Look at the budget he release for the construction of Bor to Pibor road and neglecting other states and all have been affected by war and all roads are difficult to pass including his home land.People wonder whether he knows budgeting or he did it blindily.
Mr.Minister David Deng Athorbei make sure one day you will come down at the payam level lobbying and compaigning for election. All people hate you including the new born babies becoz you are useless and helplesss to them.

Let me assure that buying Hilux to paramount chiefs will not grant you or make you win the election unless you change your pompous attitudes towards your own people. The four paramount chiefs are not the ones to elect you alone but the constitution begining at the boma, payam and county level will elect you with the acception with the change of your devil attitudes.

Oh my God!This confused fellow calling himself Khamis who has so far abardoned studies before he learn english tenses,is after great freedom fighters held from Bor community.First of all,he began attacking lates Majier Gai and Akoot Atem in his first comment before he mistakingly bumped into leaders in his second basely comment, naming their clans as well.Any one there near this moron to ask him what he accuately want from these SPLA heros and great sons of land. This idiot is among the few who spoil the images of good people for no reasons.Khamis is a naive from Rumbek according to his childish comments. He should always be tied up under one tree and leave to bark there rather than to let him come and wast money on internet or he must be taken back to school to resume studies so as to sharpen him morally into acceptable citizen.Khamis, this primitive behavior of yours is totally uncceptable today in modern South Sudan. You are the people who represent fake image of where you come from, spoiling your people’trust in whole society.

    Dear Mr.Phili Thon Aleu,

Thanks for the update on the so called connection of Jonglei Capital Bor Town with Counties. There is no need going back to why this was not done in the pastit over due!.I was in Bor recently and I could not believe my eyes of what I saw.less than 2km of road leading out from Town to Juba, Pibor, Baidit is worse than during wartime and people are busy grabbing land as the order of the day.Bor County itself is already a deserted County and has been over taken by few Murle lunatics who loot livestock, rape women and abuduct children day and night and nobody bother to report these . The Government of Southern Sudan, Jonglei State and Counties failed to protect her own citizen. there is heavy presence of the army and other security organs in the State and in the Country but I fail to understand why they are not protecting the people?
villages that were not displaced during the war are now hyenas villages.where is the peace dividends? I realy wonder what our fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters who died before the CPA will tell us if they resurrect today?.
it is always empty promises, corruption but no good damn thing is happening.
For you Mr.Philip Thon Aleu from Sudantribune, the media should be fair and independent because it is the voice of voicelss and the eye of the blind .please share with all readers of Sudan tribune on daily basis if you can the number of peole butchered by this primitive inter- clan conflict, Tribal thugs and children abducted by this lunatics.please do not only come on air when there is something good to report. we also want hear those bad things that State and Government of Southern Sudan do not want us to hear. Surprisingly, tribes of Southern Sudan keep denying and defending barbaric act committed by their tribesmen and Government of Southern Sudan and Jonglei State have been silence because this will be shamefull to them and evident that they have fail to protect the very people that they claimed to protect.time will come when the future willhold those who are causing atrocities and those who fail to protect the citizen accountable.
