Sudanese president dismiss speculations on divisions over ICC

February 4, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — The Sudanese president Omer Hassan Al-Bashir today denied the existence of any divisions within the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) over dealing with the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Al-Bashir who addressed a group of retired army officers at the presidential palace said that an ICC indictment against him “will not result in a military coup or dissent among the NCP members”.

“Ocampo’s allegations proved to the world that the Sudanese people are united in confronting conspiracies” Al-Bashir said. “It is targeting the country not one of the NCP leaders”.

The ICC judges currently reviewing the charges made against Al-Bashir that include three counts of genocide, five of crimes against humanity and two of murder.

The prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo have alleged in his application submitted last July that Al-Bashir masterminded a campaign to get rid of the African tribes in Darfur; Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa.

A decision is widely expected before the end of the month.

Some analysts have suggested that there are signs of power struggle within the NCP particularly between 2nd Vice President Ali Osman Taha and powerful presidential assistant Nafi Ali Nafi to succeed Al-Bashir in the event of an arrest warrant.

But Sudanese officials have described these reports as “wishful thinking”.

The Sudanese head of state described accusations of genocide and mass rape in Darfur as “lies” saying that the government is working for the “safety and protection of citizens in Darfur”.

He further said that the ICC move is aimed at impeding development projects in the country.

The retired military officers have submitted an oath to Bashir pledging to defend as the “symbol of the nation”.

They also called on all Sudanese expatriates to unite behind the Sudanese president.

Al-Bashir praised the retired security officers “for standing with the leadership and the nation”.

Statements of allegiance to AL-Bashir issued by political parties, unions and professional groups became almost a daily occurrence since the ICC indictment.

Al-Bashir is the NCP nominee in the presidential elections that are scheduled to be held sometime this year.

Mr criminals bashir looks suspicious in his pictures, i think he is giving up his resistance of saying that he will fight with American if they want to arrest him, actually i think that it is a better choice for him to just hand himself to ICC. He was trying to convinced NCP that his individual indication will affect the whole party, but this is wrong, NCP and Sudan as whole will exist with anyone who can manage to implement the CPA and also bringing a peace in durfur. Getting rid of criminals is just like weeding your garden and this is what we are hoping to be in Africa, begins with savages like bashir. Bashir must not be proud of those business people (china), they are in an intention of maintaining their relation with a rich resource nation not supporting diot from charges. Likewise, china does not have any recognation from ICC to agree on their support. You better suurender yourself Mr crook bashir.

President Bashir should not lie to the Sudanese and the world that there is no power struggle within his murderous and unsympathetic party.

We are all aware of what is happening within National Congress Party! This party is at the brink of its collapse.

Bashir should not also lie that Sudanese are united against the move of ICC to arrest him. Bashir should know that his murderous and evil deeds are now coming to be answered. He should never hide behind the name of Sudanese people.

We, the marginalized have nothing to do with Bashir and even the so called Nafi Ali Nafi and Osman Ali Taha!

Albashir will continue to lie and portray himself as a superhero before he is actually arrested or removed. Look, this is what he said before; He said, he is an elephant and Mr. Ocampo is a mosquito. Also, he said USA, France, and Unied Kingdom (British) are all under his shoes. What a crazy president.

Justice must be served under all conditions because without justice there is no meaning in having any system of government. So any attempt by anybody to stop Bashir from persecution is an act of injustice. If Sudan depends on Bashir’s stay in power, then we are a people to be pitied the most for we know that his time to go has come. But for me, I do not think removing Bashir from power, because of the crimes he has committed in Darfur, will ever stop Sudan moving ahead with its usual way of life. We are not under one man’s show for we have been there before Bashir or some other political criminals who have come to power in Sudan through the back door.

Sudanese president face justice and Leave Sudanese alone.
My president,it is time that all sudanese need justice and therefore you should try lobby for sympathy from us but die alone since everybody reaps what he or she sow.You sow hatred and envy that in sudanese that led to death of millions and displacement of millions more but time had come now for you to harvest your crops.Don’t deny power struggle within your party because sudanese are already knowing that you are going to the court Hugue. My advice to fellow sudanese is that, we’ve to denounce violance or war that will imerge because of Al Bashir going to Hugue since we have lost a lot of lives and witnessed great distuction on our own properties. Please, brothers and sisters let’s think twice before anything happens when reacting our President’s arrest.
Unity of Sudan is better so let Bashir go his way.Policians need to take care of Bashir becoz he wants to go to hell with others too.

Bad news for Bashire, some of leaders from National Congress Party wanted to let president pay for his sins by assassanited. They are upset about what Omer has done to some of their fellow friends within the governement. they went to joint “Sudan people liberation movement” to see what they would do to make whole Sudan a better country, because this president has been known as a killer not a peace maker. they have been very interested in stopping criminal from escape to the Arabs countries. They wanted to let us know that they are not enemies, but fellow friends. They wanna show friendship by letting this bad guy gone before ICC. Hope the change will come with everthings it.
