NAIROBI, March 25, 2004 (Sudan Tribune) — An inter-ministerial meeting for all Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) subcommittee members is scheduled for 31 March in Nairobi to give a final report on the Sudan peace talks.

The committee members of the IGAD subcommittee on the Sudan are Ethiopia, Eritrea, Uganda and Kenya.

The meeting will be held on 31 March to discuss whether the committee members “can give what might hopefully be the final push before a healthy, bouncing baby in the form of peace for Sudan, is finally delivered” the Kenyan Foreign minister said.

The Kenyan minister, Kalonzo Musyoka, made the remarks during a meeting with Norwegian Foreign Affairs Minister Jan Petersen in Nairobi, Kenyan radio said.

The Norwegian government has pledged a ceremony for reconstruction of southern Sudan.

Kalonzo urged the warring factions in Sudan and end wrangling and chart the way forward.

The minister Petersen, who was on a stopover on his way to South Africa, noted that Norway is keen in enhancing its foreign policies with Kenya.
