Southern Sudan delegation in talks with Kenyan minister over peace

NAIROBI, March 26, 2004 (SUNA) — Kenyan Foreign Minister Kalonzo Musyoka received at his office on Thursday 25 March the visiting delegation from Equatoria headed by Maj-Gen rtd Alison Manani Magaya.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed the Kenyan role in helping the Sudanese peace process to reach its aspired goals. The meeting also discussed arrangements for the peace stage, during which Kenya is expected to play an important role.

In a statement to SUNA following the meeting, which was attended by Sudan’s ambassador to Kenya Ali Abd al-Rahman Numeiri, Magaya said the meeting had been successful and showed a great understanding between the two sides.

He pointed out that the Kenyan foreign minister affirmed his country’s commitment to boost the peace process and maintain its supportive role in the peace stage. The delegation expressed its appreciation for the Kenyan role and its support to the south-south dialogue.
