Two people die, child abducted in Bor Town shooting

By Philip Thon Aleu

March 11, 2009 (BOR TOWN) — A man and his wife are dead following a late-night shooting here on Tuesday. Their only son, 6 years old, is now abducted by unknown gunmen.

The incident occurred at Cuei-Atem Beny, a suburb south of Bor Town. At the scene on Wednesday morning, relatives, friends and sympathizers gathered to bury the couple. Their identities could not be disclosed by press time in accordance with the Bor cultural practice on passing death messages. However, the woman was a daughter from Anyidi Payam in Bor County while her husband is from Aliap-Aweriar County, Lakes State.

The six-year old boy was in a hut with his grandmother as his late father and mother were about two meters outside the hut. Then two gunmen allegedly secured the hut where the boy was sleeping, robbed the old woman, took positions against the couple and fired bullets which killed them, said a neighbour today.

Mourners blame Murle raiders for the attack. Local leaders commented that the attack can be seen as an advancement of the rustlers’ atrocities toward the state capital, Bor Town. The raid by gunmen at Bor Town comes as heavy fighting rages between Murle and Lou-Nuer in Pibor County territory.

No causalities are reported for nearly three weeks of contests there over cattle. Authorities say it is an organized retaliatory attack on the Murle community, which has prompted Gov. Kuol Manyang to go to Juba requesting for urgent intervention by the Government of Southern Sudan to stop the growing tension on the ground.

The ONLY solution is for the Bor community to re-arm themselves and hunt down the Murle from their villages.
It would have been a good idea if the Lounuer consulted with the Jonglei tribes to wage a well coordinated attack on murle.
They need to be taught a lesson that they will not forget for their entire lives.
What Lounuer did by attacking murle is the best mean of discouraging murle from their vicious acts of killing and abducting the innocents.

Since the government of Southsudan has become toothless it is upto the people to protect themselves.
This is a measure enemy which must not be ignored.
Even if it mean wiping the murle from the map so be it for they deserve it.

Iam calling upon the Bor youths to seek possibilities of arming themselves and attack murle sooner than later.
My condolences goes to those who LOST their lives and a child.

I am so sorry for the tragic death of couple and an abduction of their only son. The death was very deliberate and systematic. However, I urge the concern family to take counterattacks against the suspecting county or whatever it is called. Look, being defensive often time is not good and does not even in most cases require in a situation such that in Bor. Get together and take the offensive action against those stupid idiots. You should not just stay and expect the government to protect you. The government does not have party in the internal cases. It is a government for all smart and crook people.

    Aguthon,

First, let me pay condonlences to the family of the slain and abducted child in Bor county. Kuol Manyang should be serious in tackling the growing insecurity situation during his term as governor. He should stop politicking otherwise it would backfire as it is on his community.

Dinkas are known world wide as the first class thieves and traitors in the whole of Sudan since the British time or from time immemorial. They betrayed the South particularly the Nuer and Azande who were fighting the British to free the South from colonialism. Their chiefs were paid sacks of salt and sugar in 1947’s Juba Conference to accept Arabs as brothers against self-determination and federalism.

After independence they became the first class traitors with Abel Alier, the George Kongor and Moses Machar working under the shoes of Arabs in the Palace planning how to kill southerners in the war. Late John Garang also was a traitor working Jaafer Nimieri until he was sent to Bor town to bring back William Nyuon and Kerubino Kwanyin from rebellion. When Garang knew that he failed to bring them back, he followed them up to Ethiopia with his wife, Rebecca Nyandeng alone. But there he continued with his betrayal to Arabs by using the Arab strategy of united Sudan instead of self-determination.

But in 1991 historic “Creeping Revolution” the situation was set right by Dr. Riek Machar who corrected the objective to self-determination for the people of South Sudan. This has become the true path to freedom sung by all southerners.

The Dinka are also first class thieves as they stole oil money from Nuer land in their failed administration. Every body in Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, USA, etc. who follow the news in Sudan know that the Dinka-led administration is a shame to the South. They have proved to be pure thieves without development at heart. They have proved that they were fighting for the stomachs to liberate the traditional chronic hunger in Dinka land. This is why the Dinka still sell their kids to Arabs and Murle to date. What a shame!!!
