US President Barack Obama, who held a meeting with the UN Secretary-General yesterday, urged a strong, unified stand against Sudan’s expulsion last week of 13 humanitarian agencies that had provided the majority of aid in Darfur.

Obama said “the Khartoum government has kicked out some of the most important nongovernmental organizations that provide direct humanitarian aid to millions of people who’ve been internally displaced in the Sudan. And we have a potential crisis of even greater dimensions that what we already saw.”

The state minister of foreign affairs Ali Ahmed Karti said that UN chief had rushed “false and distorted information sent by the ousted aid groups.” He further added that Ban had to be patient and to wait the findings of a joint Sudan-UN mission from Sudan to assess the humanitarian needs on the grounds.

A joint Sudan-UN mission to evaluate the need for food, water, health and emergency shelter in Darfur commenced today. While some 183 aid workers form the evicted 13 groups left the country leaving some 4.7 million people they assisted.

The expelled organizations had been working in other regions besides Darfur, as it was the case for Abyei, Bleu Nile State and southern Kordofan.

Karti also appealed to the President Obama to avoid “erroneous” information provided by the previous administration and to seek to obtain new information.

Ali Sadiq the official spokesperson of the foreign ministry said that Sudan has hoped that “President Obama, who came to power with the backdrop of calling for change, would give himself the opportunity to gather information to get acquainted with the facts before issuing such statements.”

Sadiq said any other state, experiencing this situation, will expel the NGOs as the national security is a top priority.
He also reaffirmed Khartoum commitment to file the cap of food shortages due to the expulsion of the humanitarian organizations.

The so-called NGO or Aid groups that were expelled from the Sudan last week, given to their involvement in the ICC decision to arrest the president of Sudan, are indeed criminals and traitors that came to Sudan to serve USA or NATO or EU intelligences. They want to destablize Sudan so that they can continue their with their jobs there, the help they are providing to Darfuuri people is nothing compared to if there is peace in the country!! Let them go the EU, USA or NATO for employment there! let them get their asses out of the Sudan for the peace to prevail there!!!!!!!!!!!!
