Sudan’s Bashir visits Libya

March 26, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — Sudanese President Omer Hassan Al-Bashir visited today Libya in his third trip outside the country since the arrest warrant of the International Criminal Court against him, on March 4.

Three days ago Bashir was in Asamara and in Cairo. Through these trips Bashir aims to defy the ICC decision. Today’s travel was held secret like his visit to Eritrea.

Following his arrival to Sirte, 600 km east of the Libyan capital he met with the Libyan leader who is also the chairman of the African Union.

The Sudanese president was accompanied by his foreign minister Deng Alor.
