By The Nuer Supreme Council

March 31, 2009 — The Nuer Supreme Council congratulates Lt. General Paulino Matip Nhial, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the South People’s Liberation Army (SPLA), for reconciling the Nuer rivals in the United States vying for the community’s top position. Internal power struggle within the Nuer community commenced after either contender (Both Bol Guandong or Khon Kueth Mar) refused to acknowledge a defeat. Former officials of the community attempted various options to mitigate the conflict. However, no attainable solution ever worked out. It is believed that continuity of such division might have significant harm to society’s social organization.
With the intervention of Lt. General Paulino Matip, the guider of the Nuer Nation, parties to the conflict were brought to the table on March 28, 2009 in the U.S state of Minnesota. Hon. Paulino Matip Nhial is a talented person with extensive military background and leadership skills. He is a proactive elder with a lot of courage and strength to confront fear. Therefore the Nuer society, for its safeguard and prosperity, is blessed to have such rare breed.
The Nuer Supreme Council leadership says thank you to Lt. General Paulino Matip Nhial for your patriotic efforts to settle disputes of the Nuer Community Development Services (NCDS) in the United States of America.
