Sudan is in a tangled political dilemma
By Abdelgabar Mahmoud Dosa
April 16, 2009 — The tangled political dilemma in the Country constitutes a terrible nightmare for all national political elites. The NCP dominated government led the Country to this end through a twenty year irrational ruling. Save deliverance from such harmful political swamp requires four instant Salvation steps, and I provide it here in this sequence;
The first step is no conditioned respond by the Government to all Darfur demands without conducting any negotiation, and the decision is to be ratified by the parties at any forum, as no price for gaining a sustainable peace becomes greater, then the parties can go for negotiations either collectively or individually to settle the accommodation and re-integration of the combatants.
Secondly the current government should step down, thirdly, establishment of a national impartial transitional government from persons reflecting the diversity in the country, its first task is to achieve a draft for a permanent constitution and conduct fair impartial and free elections in a conducive democratic environment.
Fourthly the elect government is to ratify a permanent constitution and fulfill the implementation of the different Agreements, failure to conduct such containment, the current political congestion will increase and the haphazard end to such congestion could be disastrous to the future of the country.
