The Secretary General of Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM) Pagan Amum said that the registration was made in accordance with the political parties’ law that resulted from the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).

Amum reaffirmed the SPLM commitment to democracy, stability and peaceful power circulation.

The SPLM official stressed that his movement will work with other political powers to adopt the final version of the political parties law in the national assembly.

He recounted the transformation of the SPLA into a political party saying the new party “has no relation to an army or paramilitary forces because the SPLA is part of the Sudanese army and Joint Integrated Unit (JIU)”.

The SPLM was founded in May 1983 by its late leader John Garang who was killed in a helicopter crash over three years ago. The SPLA fought a bitter war against the Sudanese government till 2005 when a peace agreement was signed brokered by several international and regional players.

The chairman of the SPLM has become the First Vice President of Sudan in accordance with the accord and some ministerial and diplomatic posts have been allocated to its members.

The Southern movement said it is prepared to run in the February 2010 elections and achieve a substantial victory.

The Deputy Secretary General Yasir Arman told Reuters that the SPLM has “candidates in all 25 states in addition to Abyei and we will be a main force in Sudan. We have wide support”

It is not clear who the SPLM candidate for the presidential elections. Initially it was announced that its chairman Salva Kiir would run before other SPLM officials said that no decision have been made.

Arman said the SPLM would focus on three main issues ahead of the vote including the Darfur conflict, Sudan’s democratic transformation and the referendum on southern independence due in 2011.

The SPLM has made positive a step forward because it had make itself an official party, but what about SPLA? Will SPLA be turned into national army or Party army?

These are some of the questions I am wondering about. It would make a great difference if SPLA will be re-named. Contact the writer at:[email protected] for personal questions. While the sweltering heat of political arena burn the skins of some individual, let the party be forum for justice but forget the unpraiseworthy deeds.

Amum and Arman, your illusionary SPLM/A had emereged under vision of New Sudan. You preached to people that if SPLM rule Sudan, Sudanese will enjoy freedom, prosperty, security, democracy, transparancy, equality and justice. Such moral promises had allowed SPLM/A to enjoy popular creditability because people belived they will harvest the fruits of New Sudan after peace deal. It was so easy and simple for your cheater Dr. John Garang to preach with hony words or tongue during liberation.

But implementation of what you have and Garang had preached is since four year negative and even increased grievances on our oppressed people. Bashier is enemy to black people in Sudan not Northern Arab decents. NCP doen’t marginalize its subjects as SPLM. No tribalism in North as it is now in South. No other Arab tribe launch an attack against other Arab clan. But SPLM/A and its GOSS does.

What will this time judge you is the result of waht your SPLM has achive in four year time in office. So do not tire yourself by claiming that you will and will and will and will do good after election next year.
    You had already failed.
political assassination against other non-SPLM/A figure is prevalance in South and that why you have 65 southern leaders prefered to hold their conference in Kenana fear of their life in South. Meanwhile, northern opposition enjoy security despite of their political emnity with NCP.

Now because of next election, you are trying again to use plagiarizing language that your SPLM will transformed Sudan into democratic state, work with other parties and make sure peace is reached in Darfur. My dear, you can cheat people for one time.
The outcome results of four years you rule Southern Sudan shall alone this time preach not you.

Pagan Amum, is a big lier. He doesn’t know what he is talking about. How come he said that the SPLM is already registered as a political party?. What was SPLM before? Pagan Amum, needs to watch out because he is addressing senseless speech that make him look like he know something, but in reality he has nothing in his brain. A good liberator leader shouldn’t tend down his party by saying that his party is registered. This mean that the SPLM/SPLA was not existed before.

Second, I deeply criticized Pagan Amum, for the recent speech that he gave last month about not going to vote for unity. How come that he keep changing his mind from direction to direction like a car being steered by somebody? I thought that Pagan Amum, already went to Khartoum and join the NIF regime of Stupid Omar Bashir.
If Pagan Amum vote for unity, it will not affect or do any harm to the Southern Sudanese. The only person that will faced the problem is him because if he is going to surrender himself to the Arab, then I hope Arabs will not leave him, but the will kill him on spot. So it is up to him to make any choice. Pagan Amum is a big traitor like other leaders that I know so far in Southern Sudan.

SPLM/SPLA is very strong movement and whoever want to do anything out of the SPLM/SPLA concern, will face consequences otherwise he has to maintain or distant himself away from the SPLM/SPLA objectives.

    Shame on Pagan Amum.
