Sudanese finance minister hails strong relations with China

KHARTOUM, April 2, 2004 (SUNA) — Minister of Finance and National Economy Al-Zubayr Ahmad al-Hasan has affirmed the strong relations between Sudan and China in the economic and political fields based on the principle of friendship, pointing to the two countries’ mutual support at the international forums and Sudan’s support to one-China policy.

This came on Thursday 1 April, when the minister met here the chairman of the Economic Office at External Relations Secretariat of Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party who is heading a big economic delegation comprising a number of directors of Chinese companies.

The minister expressed hope that China would become the biggest partner in the projects after realization of peace in Sudan, calling on Chinese companies for entering domains of infrastructures, railways, water, roads and bridges as well as spheres of technical education and telecommunication.

The Minister pointed at strategic cooperation with China in the oil field, describing the Sino-Sudanese cooperation as South-South cooperation, pointing out that the exchange of visits between the officials in the two countries has resulted in establishment of a number of joint projects.

The chairman of the Economic Office at External Relations Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, in turn, underlined the developed Chinese-Sudanese ties.
