US envoy says want credible election in Sudan

May 7, 2009 (KHARTOUM) – The visiting U.S. special envoy Scott Gration pledged today to support the conduct of general elections saying US wants Sudan to hold credible election.

Gration_and_Kiir.jpgGration, who visits Sudan from the second time since his appointment, held talks on Thursday with the First Vice President Salva Kiir Mayadrit who also heads the semi-autonomous southern Sudan government.

The two parties discussed the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) which provides to organize general elections four years after the signing of peace agreement in 2005. However Sudan election board delayed it last month to February 2010.

The American official said his country wants Sudan to organize elections as agreed in the CPA but credible elections. “We want to see elections carried out, elections that are credible,” said Gration.

He further said “It is our decision that we will support the referendum, which we’ll support the CPA, and we’ll push very hard that it’s fully implemented.”

The US envoy also called to vote all the necessary laws to run free and fair elections and referendum in the country.

“We also believe that we have to start right now to pass the laws that are required so that we can get a referendum so that the will of people is demonstrated in a way that’s credible and in a way that can be accepted by all sides of the international community,” Gration said.

He also met with the Presidential Assistant Nafi Ali Nafi and Presidential Adviser Gazi Salah Eddin Attabani.

Look at these two idiots in the picture, why is Kiir wearing a cowboy hat who is he fooling. He is not a respectable man that’s why Graiton wore one too, he sees him a joke. The SPLA should not be a political movement they should be an armed movement alone because all they can do is fight. They have achieved absolutely nothing for us.

I also urge all you blind SPLA supporters on here to look at this link and show me where this has been done in the South

This dinkas born Kiir is wearing that hat of cowboy as his pride of owning Slava People Labour Army (SPLA). That cowboy hat has brought him a prosperity . He now look at real soldiers as his labours/servants who just work for him and his mad junglese to loot $$$. I just smile at myself when I look at Kiir’s image, it is like a comedian not a VP of my own country.

LOGIC BOY IS THE CHAIRMAN OF ERM

HI Mr. Gen Scott, Thank you for a great job you are doing in Sudan for pushing both side south and north for the peace agreement as been signed in 2005. Mr. President Obama is proud the good job you are doing in Sudan. I don’t think Sudan election will be credible because southern Sudanese are not united like American people. People of southern Sudan are killing themselves days and night for the tribal issues, but they are not worries about their freedom from Arab in the north. They fighting against each other who will be the next president of southern Sudan. right now a lot of southern Sudanese people are against Mr. Salva Kiir because other saying that he is not doing a good job; and others saying that Kiir is Dinka because there are a lot of tribe in the south who don’t like Dinka. Southern Sudan election will be horrible because there will be a war among themselves. there will be no peace in that country and less they put tribal problem a side and come together as people of southern Sudan. But I do know that the election will be ugly. let us pray that the election will be turn out good.
