Sudanese minister hails World Bank’s support for Nile Basin countries
KHARTOUM, April 2, 2004 (SUNA) — The minister of irrigation and water resources, Eng Kamal Ali Muhammad, has praised the support of the World Bank and the donors to the establishment of joint projects and the common vision between the Nile Basin states.
This came when the minister met Thursday 1 April, with a visiting mission of the World Bank, which is headed by the Director of the Water and Rural Development department at the World Bank, and included the Director of the World Bank’s Project for the Nile Basin countries.
The World Bank’s mission has appreciated Sudan acceptance to host the regional headquarters of the Regional Project for Environment Studies, which would be inaugurated on 25 May, in the presence of representatives of the World Bank, the regional and international organizations and the African ministers of environment and water resources.
