Sudan electoral body to establish states’ committees
May 23, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — The National Elections Commission (NEC) has decided to send delegations to all the States of northern and southern Sudan to establish the offices of the higher electoral states committees as of Monday.
The NEC in a statement released today directed the heads and senior members of the committees to be at their offices in the different states and appealed to the governors and concerned stakeholders to facilitate the mission of its delegations.
Further the commission announced the formation of six delegations to visit the 26 Sudanese states.
The delegation of Sennar, Blue Nile and Aljazeera states is headed by Haj Zaki Osman, the delegation of the Red Sea, Kassala, Gedaref states is led by Bushra Mohamed Mustafa, a delegation to the three states of Darfur province headed by Baha’eddin Al-Sayed Ali and Alsir Ahmed Babiker, the delegation of White Nile, North and South Kordofan states is led by Mohamed Abdel-Fadil al-Majid, the delegation of Northern Sudan and Nile River is headed by Bushra Ahmed Al-Sheikh, while the delegation of the ten southern Sudan states is led by Cesar Archangelo.
The electoral board early this month said it had started to delimit the total number of electoral constituencies in the different Sudanese states after receiving the result of the census.
Based on the outcome of the census, a single constituency for the proportional representation requires approximately 575 thousand people, 350 thousand women are needed to form one women’s constituency, and 145 thousand people for one geographical constituency.
The elections law voted in July 2008 establishes a mixed electoral system. 60 per cent of the 450 MPs will be chosen through the majority elect in their geographical constituencies. It also guarantees 15% of the MPs elected through proportional representation and 25% of the parliamentary seats to women who also will be elected through the proportional representation.

I have a serious questions, why Northen states heads of delegations are so many and when it come to Southern Sudan ten states their head of delegation is one?
I wanted to know is the National Electoral commission is for Northen Sudan or for the entire nation? I am seeing Symptoms of rigging elections from NCP.
We need ten states of Southern Sudan to have at least 3 to 4 heads of delegations, but not one as written. What is so particular about Northen states? Why are they given so many heads of delegations?
SPLM please be watchful this is another time for cheating once again from the Arabs, you have been cheat in the census results and it is now moving to elections.
Finally separation is the best between north and south. But let idiots that are willing for unity of Sudan remain there alone for their enslaving system from Arabs. I here to let you know that separation is the only grantee to southern Sudanese rules freely.
