Benin beat Sudan in 2010 world cup qualifier
June 7, 2009 (KHARTOUM) – A lone goal in the 21st minute by Razak Omotoyossi from Benin put Sudan in a difficult position for the 2010 World Cup qualifier.
Sudan entered the game in the capital Cotonou with one point versus none to Benin in the two games played by the teams in Group 4.
In the same group, Ghana managed to secure a 2-0 victory over Mali leaving the latter at the bottom right after Sudan with only one point each.
Sudan has four matches left in the group with the last one scheduled for November 14.
The result is likely to anger fans in Sudan who have expressed skepticism over the newly appointed soccer coach Briton Stephen Constantine particularly over choices of players.
