Sudan 1st VP to begin Europe tour in July
June 27, 2009 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudanese First Vice President Salva Kiir will fly to Europe in early July on a trip that takes him to four countries, a newspaper reported.
Kiir will discuss the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and brief European officials on the situation in the South.
The newspaper said that the issue of development would top the agenda of South Sudan president particularly in light of the deteriorating global financial situation which impacted the main oil prices which accounts for 90% of South Sudan revenue.
An informed source told Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that London extended an invitation to Kiir and is scheduled to meet officials in the foreign office, House of Commons and the government.
The source did not say whether Kiir will meet with the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Kiir’s last trip to London took place in October 2006 and met with former prime minister Tony Blair.

Great to see Salva is taking his begging bowl to these European countries asking for more aid. We are already a failed state. Mismanagement, poor governance and corruption are the reasons why we, and many African countries, are in the mess we are in today.
Salva should just quit now!
