Qatar speaks about efforts to hold Sudan Chad summit
July 11, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — Efforts are going on to hold a reconciliation summit between Sudan and Chad to end the current tension between the two neighboring countries, a Qatari official said.
In statements published in Doha, the state minister for foreign affairs, Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud, said that there are contacts to hold a reconciliation summit between the presidents of Sudan and Chad soon to resolve differences between the two countries.
Since 2006, the two countries signed four reconciliation agreements in Tripoli, Jeddah, Dakar and Doha but they failed to implement it, and continue to accuse each other of supporting respective rebel groups.
The Qatari official who is involved in Darfur peace process sponsored by his country said the end of tension between the two countries will contribute to the solution of the Darfur conflict.
However, Al-Mahmoud pointed out that the date of meeting has not been determined adding it would be fixed by the two presidents in consultation with the Libyan leadership.
The statements of the Qatari official to some extend indict Qatari and the Libyan failure to gather the Presidents Omer Al-Bashir and Idriss Deby.
Last year, a Libyan minister, Ali Abdelsalam Triki, made similar statements about a meeting between the two presidents. The lack of confidence between the two leaders seems more important than their need for peace.
Recently Chad opposed African move to oppose the International Criminal Court arrest warrant against the Sudanese President.

Tripple race for regional and international recognition.
Qatar, Egypt and Libya paid no cent to buy SPLM ideas for uniting Darfuris various movements, armed them with its experiences skills in order to negotiate just and genuine peace with NIF regime.
Qatar, fox and rival to Egypt, Lion of the Middle East decided to use SPLM efforts to bring peace to Darfur, to fight a war with Egypt for recognition as a viable power regionally as well as internationally.
Libya behind the back of Egypt and Qatar was also very keen to get to the intended station before Qatar and Egypt by bribbing African leaders to protect Al Bashir from ICC arrest and support him against innocent victims in Darfur.
The question I could ask as an ordinary African Sudanese citizen is that; why Arabs opted to fight their wars in Sudan and Chad? I believe there are wars and enough land to fight those wars in Lebonan, Iraq, Golland Heights, disputed Islands between Iran and UAE, Palastine and Somalia, but Arabs want to use Darfur land to be their battle ground.
I am saying all these because Arab tripple race in Darfur is not for the benefit of Darfurians as SPLM is trying to do. Nobody would dare to reject truthful peace-makers regardless of whatever region or Continent they may come from, but peace-makers of these kind are just land seekers and must be rejected.
No Country in Africa to promote bilateral relationships with Israel without Arab anger, bitter and interferring to hinder those relationships. Chadian leaders must make it clear to Qatar to fight her war with Egypt away from Chad and Darfur.
