SPLM-DC accuses southern Sudan authorities of arresting its supporters in Upper Nile

July 26, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — the SPLM Democratic Change accused Southern Sudan authorities of briefly arresting its local leaders in Upper Nile, saying the arrest “aim to deny our party the right to practice politics”

Earlier this month, Dr Lam Akol, the leader of the SPLM-DC, accused the SPLA of arresting five supporters in Wadakona of Upper Nile State on July 4, 2009 and one supporter in Wau town.

However the southern Sudan army denied the accusation saying “The allegation against the SPLA by Dr. Lam is a big lie aiming at discrediting the SPLA.”

The former foreign minister Dr Lam Akol, founded last June the SPLM-DC after a long latent crisis with his former party the SPLM. He said he wants to save the SPLM from the “abyss” and said that its leadership are “bankrupt” and “undemocratic”.

On Saturday, the Sultan of Southern Sudan Murle tribe in Khartoum, William Lisho, after a meeting with Dr. Lam Akol that one thousand people from the tribe joined the SPLM-DC. He further said that SPLM main stream had failed to maintain the security for the people in the south.

The dictatorship of the SPLM will only intensify since the disastrous Abeyi ruling. I urge all southerners to rethink their loyalty to the SPLM and look around you and see what they have done to the South. They have talked the talk but have they walked the walk?

I believe the SPLM-DC is the only hope for the South and I would rather have an academic like Dr Lam Akol a lecturer in Chemical Engineering than a bush fighter who buys his PHDs for $100,000 from Southern Sudanese money as my leader.

I congratulate the noble Murle Tribe for taking this step.

You’re not answering the point. What have the SPLM achieved in the South with 7 billion dollars. Calling people names is just ignoring the issue. The SPLM are not competent, they’re bush fighter that do not know anything about good governance.

The SPLM fought for freedom but what have they done with that freedom? absolutely nothing! Secondly Dr Akol could not go to the Nuer and Dinka tribes because the SPLA will no allow him to do so. It harasses, murders and arrests its supporters and associates. The SPLM has served long enough and not a single Southern Sudanese can tell me one thing (besides the beer factory) they have done in South with the Billions of Dollars.

    Hey Dr Feign Lam Akol,

The whole Southern Sudanese people see you and your arrogants will never drive you anywhere. We know that you are blind fooling yourself that you are a politician, but you don’t know that you are a disaster to yourself. Lam Akol, how many parties have you formed now and you have never succeed? My advise to you is that, if Arabs people from the Northern Khartoum rendered you with some money in order to distort the SPLM/SPLA, then I hope you will end up eating that money without putting forth the aim strategies of being bribed by the Arabs. Those supporters being arrested by the SPLM/SPLA were maligning or spreading a wrong bias with which the SPLM/SPLA don’t want. I do supported the SPLM/

Second, Mr Lam Akol, if you see that people are not in need of your party, then why don’t you go back to Khartoum and work as a sanitation manager whereby you can go and dig a latrines, toilets and a sewage canals for the Arabs people in the Northern Sudan? Or you can tell it to Salva Kiir so that he can hired you in that position because you are not worthy to be a politician.

This man call Dr.Lam is a dangerous lame, dead soul in South Sudan, to leave him living mean allowing more worms to spontaneously come up. So what is the solution, dissolve his political party and incorporate him again to South Sudan political Life in high position, instead of discording him to make havoc. because if we see closely, Dr. Lam Akol the Lame is a curse person in South Sudan. He like to be a president in South Sudan, a position which Dinkas don’t want to evacuate it.

    Mr. Leo

I did not want to answer any question but the questions you raised appeared luny and crabby for me in some ways. Any way let me answer you numerically to help you understand better:-

    1. You said how many Murle know what is going on in the country? I am Murle so tell me what I don’t know that you know better than me so far.

    2. You claimed that Lam started his campaign in Murle? I think this question proved to me that, you are a lost sheep with no knowledge about what is going in the country because SPLM-DC was started in Khartoum, the general secretary is from Equartoria, SPLM-DC claim to have recieved good number of supporters in Equotoria, Upper Nile and in Bhar El Ghazel before anything came up about Murle. Also the SPLM-DC representative in Canada is Dinka, I know very big guys from every tribe in southsudan are in SPLM-DC coats but you don’t have idea about that, here I don’t understand the point you are driving to.

Mind you body, democratically people don’t joint political parties based on tribal lines. Instead, people choose parties according to the believes and the principles of the party, what each and every individual sees as the benefit to the nation or personal interest.

Please Mr. Leo stop finger pointing when it comes to the choice of political party because I know even at the moment, 99% of Murle population is purely still under SPLM.

Hence, I don’t even know what you are talking abou and after all your questions are very inefficacious.

    God bless.
