Salva Kiir to visit Blue Nile next week

August 9, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — Sudan’s First Vice President and leader of the President of semi-autonomous government in southern Sudan is expected to visit Blue Nil State on next Wednesday.

Salva Kiir who is the chairman of Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) visited last month, southern Kordofan state, in a first visit to a northern Sudanese state. His visit to Bleu Nil would be the second one.

The two day visit to Bleu Nil will include Kurmuk and Damazin, said today Abu Bakr Halima, the head of the preparatory committee of the visit.

Kiir will inaugurate the premises of the state ministry of information and culture and a certain number of hospitals and academic institutions. Also he would address a pubic rally at Al-Damazim stadium.

Kiir, who had been accused of ignoring the “marginalized population” in other Sudanese regions, dedicated the past four years to the southern Sudan problems.

Several times in the past it had been announced he would tour northern Sudan states and visit war ravaged Darfur region.

It’s good to pay visit to these marginalised states of Sudan, such as Darfur and East,it may boost the Party in the forth elections Should SPLM dare to contest the presidency.A move which seems unlikely at this stage.

These visits can remind people like Nubians who contributed immensely during struggle of the possible revival of the New Sudan which many pessimists believe to have been burried with Dr Garang.
