August 9, 2009 (RUMBEK) — A government delegation arrived to the capital of Lakes State to discuss arrangements for the opening of Rumbek University this academic year.

A delegation from the National Fund for Students Care (NFSC) arrived in Rumbek, to discuss with the state authorities the admissions and the housing arrangements of the future students.

The delegation is composed of Badr Eddin Mohamed of NFSC and professor Samuel Machar, secretary general of Rumbek University, Abdellah Mohamed Ahmed of NFSC Bhar ElGazal and Gordon Dot, director of public relations at Rumbek University.

Rumbek University is jointly funded by the federal government and southern Sudan government.

In August 2008, the Southern Sudan government allocated 10 million Sudanese Pound to the establishment of the Rumbek University.

What has been going on for all this time?

Empty promises without implementation from omar bashir–It is all crap–how long this establishment of Rumbek Univesity has been on the media but nothing–has happened physically to show that it is real–It is just a waste of resources of employing people but they are not doing the job intended to be done–…..corrupt and brute government of omar bashir would not do any good for Southerners otherwise Southerners must work for their own distination which is going to be beneficial for the coming generations.

This is just like a phishing email–

Who are going to study there??

It is a good news but will the local people in Rumberk allow other people to go and study there? This is due to the fact that in Rumberk, people there dont want other people in any parts of Sudan to do something productively there as I can give example how they are dealing with people who are trading there.

Opening University there may be a good tools to open Dinka’s eyes because they have failed to construct any good building there.

Let wait and see the type of University they are talking about if it will not be turn into fighting ground or frontline!!

    Brother in Christ,
