7 people die in Jonglei’s Twic after gunmen attack

August 10, 2009 (BOR TOWN) – 7 people are killed and 5 others injured in Twic East County following gunmen attack.
The clashes comes 9 days after attackers, said to be neighboring Lou Nuer of Uror, killed 5 people but army is yet to intervene, local leader said.
There is no immediate respond from either the southern Sudan army at Panpandiar, 12 miles on Bor – Juba road, or state authorities over alleged reluctance to control insecurity in Twic East.
Commissioner Diing Akol said are from Uror County, attacked Kir-apir cattle camp in Lith Payam about mid night on Friday killing six (6) people on shot.
There is no confirmation from attackers’ side about casualties.
