Gunmen kill UNAMID Sudanese worker in South Darfur

August 10, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — Unknown gunmen killed a Sudanese contractor working with the hybrid peacekeeping mission in South Darfur state, the UNAMID said on Tuesday.

“The staff member was shot by unknown armed men about 4 kilometres from UNAMID base in El Daein town in South Darfur.”

The victim was taken to the hospital by a UNAMID patrol where he later died yesterday.

UNAMID is investigating the incidence.

The mission did not disclose the identity of the Sudanese worker.

    These cowards are creating chaos as usual with no political agenda except to protect themselves as they have always been and always will be, thieves and murderers. I hope thay get caught and hanged so others will stop thinking that this is good business !
    To the UN, I say, stop protecting these people through false reporting to pressure the government while these murderers get away with all sorts of crimes ! What good does this do to anyone, least of all the Sudanese (not DARFURIS as your reports love to divide us into sections) who die in the camps?
