Chinese carrier to operate direct flights between Beijing and Khartoum
August 17, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — A Chinese private carrier, Juneyao Airlines, will operate for the first time direct flights between Beijing and Khartoum, a Sudanese official said today.
Juneyao Airlines, based in Shanghai, is mainly operating domestic services from Shanghai. The company announced recently plans to develop its activities into an international airline.
To this end the private carrier, last July has taken delivery of an Airbus A320, the first of six purchased aircrafts. Juneeyao currently operates 10 Airbus aircraft – two A319s and eight A320s – with 10 more A320s.
The spokesperson of the Sudanese civil aviation authority, Abdel Al-Hafiz Abdel-Rahim said today that Sudan and China agreed to open direct flights between the two countries.
Based on the bilateral agreement, Juneyao Airlines will begin in mi-September to operate between the Chinese and Sudanese capitals, Abdel-Rahim added.
He further said that the agreement comes within the framework of the liberalization policy pursued by the Sudan and approved recently by the Council of Ministers.
Sudan-China economic relations have seen over the past ten years a major development.
Sudan is the third partner of China in Africa. The volume of trade exchange between the two countries is 8.18 billion U.S. dollars. Also the investments of Chinese companies in Sudan amounted to 13.1 billion USD while the non-financial investment jumped to ten billion USD.
Also there are more than 7,000 Chinese employees working in Chinese large-scale projects in Sudan, most notably in the fields of oil, roads and bridges and construction. Besides significant number of Sudanese businessmen and traders who work with Chinese firms.

Good job Khartoum government, everyday we see new development and new project opened, we will soon be the number one country in Africa south of the desert in terms of economy, education, healthcare, highway roads, dams, agriculture and have a very strong army that depend on itself on creating the convention and none convention military equioments that the army needs, not like other who still fighting over cows!!
