Uganda bans food exports to South Sudan – report
August 29, 2009 (KAMPALA) –Ugandan Government has stopped food export to Southern Sudan following criticism over the worsening famine in the country, the Daily Monitor disclosed today.
Since last June it was reported that food exports to southern Sudan had negatively affected Uganda’s food security as the farmers prefer to export their production to Juba where they are attracted by the good prices.
Following directives from “above” government had decided to suspend food exports to stabilize stocks on local markets said a high ranking official of Uganda Export Promotions Board who required anonymity.
According to the daily, last week, a number of trucks ferrying bananas ,or Matooke they call it, and cereals to Juba via Oraba customs post in Koboko District in northwestern Uganda were reportedly turned away.
However Ugandan trade minister, Mr. Kahinda Otafiire dismissed the existence of such ban. “I don’t know anything like that. We are continuing to export all the agricultural products.”
Speaking last June, President Museveni said the Ugandan exports for last financial year stood at $2.8 billion compared with $2.6 billion the year before, mainly due to increased regional demand.

Dinka SPLM are going to place Southern Sudanese at stake. What will they offer to the hunger striken citizens? are they going to feed us from that beer factory?
Anyway it might help dispersing these “Jungles” out of Juba when “mama Zahraa” “shourba” disappear, and no more “nyamchouma” at “inter-africa” or “queen of Sheeba”.
After all, they need to go and put up something in their disattracive villages as dignified normal people. Beside, they must learn how to cook food instead of looting the town at night just in order to get “shourba” the next day!!
Currently, it’s very hard to tell whether their so called villages are inhabited by human beings or hyena. Beleive me if you see how these people are living you will automatically fall sick; yet they are claiming to be rulers and “benys” what a great jock…

Does our land refuse to produce food? Or waht is it that we depend on others to sell us their food? This is the reason why I was the first one to plant my own maze and sorghum. Those lazy hands will now be forced to pick up their hoes to produce food for their empty stomachs.

It is good news because what is happening in Juba with corrupted money is crazy.

I never heard of Bananas has been cooked since I grow up in Southern Sudan I just learn this recently because those Ugandan enter into Southern Sudan. Unfortunately this Matooke has been eaten by Ugandan and this shall affect them if the stop ferry.
Ugandan participates in corruption and promotes prostitution in Southern Sudan particularly in Juba, they touch our daughter to have sex with money and drink alcohol which is not there before and they sell dog meet they are dirty people. Either they go back to their county or cooperate with Southern Sudan.

It is good that Ugandan government has banned food exports to South Sudan. This will teach us a lesson that depending on other country will not make thing move in right direction.
I remember when Museven said in the last two years when there was icreased of food prices that the icreased of food prices is a blessing in Uganda because Uganda is surrounded by hungry neighbours.
But to those who said it will affect Dinkas, this is a lie, during the 2 decades of war, was there food exported to South Sudan? Why didn’t Dinkas died of hunger?
Please stop telling lies!!!!
