Cattle raiders loot 15 villages in Lakes state

August 31, 2009 (RUMBEK) — Armed tribesmen from Central Equatoria have looted some 1500 head of cattle in raids on 15 villages in Lakes state, a local SPLM official said today.
The attacks by a clan of Mundari tribe called Chuklei hit 15 villages in Awerial county which consists of 7 payam and 23 bomas.
SPLM county secretary, Dut Malualcahoc, told reporters that the number of Internally Displaced Persons in Awerial has increased as result of the continuous raids as well as poor rainfall this year.
Malualcahoc urged the state government to deploy more SPLA troops in the affected area.
“SPLM is busy now by a from house to house campaign for 2010 general election and with this threat of raiders, our campaign will be ill like census result which did not meet the county interest,” Malualcahoc said.
Local observers in Awerial county say few months after the disarmament took place in the Lakes, the Mundari people from Terekeka County began robbing cows, sheep, goats, and innocent people were being killed.
Puluk Payam has lost up to 350 people, 2,500 cows, 5,000 sheep and goats as direct result of raids by Mundari of Terekeka County since the disarmament happen in 2006.
Last week, Puluk payam elders, chiefs and youth sent a letter to Government of Southern Sudan (GOSS) demanding the removal of County commissioner, Simon Aguto Kok Ajak who is seen as a protégé of the governor, saying he failed to stop cattle raids.

Equatorians are far a way from this accusation your are labelling. Mundari people will not do something like this always they respect neighbors, and they don’s cause any problems. True-by-God man; please don’t bring mundari in tnis Jonglei, and Lakes states business of cattles wrestlings.
Centeral Equatoria is innocient from this accusations. please again don’t destroy the Mundari, and Central Equatoria reputations. We wanted to work together with the SPLM officials from Bor inorder to reduce down the scale of this cattle business. And i am very sure Mundari did not do this evil work of stealling other people’s caws.
Please, again we Equatorians are monitaring the caws fighting and we wanted to calm down those people who are doing such inhuman actions of stealing, and killing innocient lives.

This is exactly what president Kiir and with his imposed inept governor Awet are capable of doing. Kiir doesn’t like to see the great central state of Lakes with stability it deserves since he does know clearly are the very people he has been constantly conspiring against since whilst in the bush times. This is proved with reference to his actions when he was still a spy man in the SPLA plus four contradictory remarks he made not behind closed doors but in the broad daylight at Rumbek Freedom Square. Statements in which he suffered a humiliating rebuttals from elders, he said he regrets but neither is seen in his actions. Congrats! to Awerial county chiefs and elders to realise that Kiir’s inept appointees must be confronted and deposed back to him this time.
Kiir bears all the brutes Lakes state has suffered since back in late 1980s thru killing prominent leaders of this state in the pretext of Movement objectives. Garang didn’t have any secret agenda against Lakes state as Kiir agents always want people to believe. This is time to unearth facts. Now he has nothing in common with the current Lakes state governor but share the common objective of keeping our people more crippled thru indirectly suffering ripple effects of his horribles.
I agree with one youth web commentator from Lakes who sugested these Kiir’s bankruptcy appointees start with the governor has to be force out at gun point and transported to their home villages or to Juba where their boss is. It’s one sure option people are left with, to deconstruct this situation. Daniel Deng Monydit must stop being a confused man between Kiir and Lakes. This looks clear from the report it is a fake, cooked story.
Some wrong elements in a dinka communities were feeling disgusting for the reports everyday a bout Jonglei Trible fighting, cattle wrestling, killings, and corruptions, so, they wanted to distort, and destroy the image of civilized Equatorials so that our image will fall to the ground like they damage their image rigionally and internationally.
Warning to Equatorial leaders, please be conscious; watch out this few(elements) Dinka criminals were playing under ground plans to distroy the Equatorial reputations, please beware of this criminal acts.
