Project manager Kenyi Champlain describes the training as a modality to improve live hoods at family levels. Top officials from war disabled commission and women association in Jonglei attending the opening session challenged the ladies to take the chance and explore the market.

Mending a dress here cost 30 Sudanese Pounds apart from the purchasing amount. A hard working toiler can raise 60 Sudanese Pound a day putting a huge benefit above government employee per month.

“This is a sustainable training and will be of high benefit to your families,” Susan Lith Aluong, the Governor’s advisor on Gender told the trainees at war disabled office on Thursday afternoon.

This group of women, Sudan’s widows, are those who lost their husbands during Sudan two decades civil ended in 2005 with forging of a peace accord; the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

As more than 80% of women in southern Sudan are uneducated, the Government of South Sudan took a special attention to maintain the families of lost SPLA heroes.

In Jonglei state, a fallen brother, in the Dinka culture, is married a wife on his name. As such, registration for deceased is being made to benefit the martyrs as are called dead soldiers.

Maintaining a family at monthly aid from GoSS proved insufficient and thus, training on independence works became better option. However, little education has always denied Southern Sudan women other chances rather than manual ones.

In another development, Gov. Kuol Manyang Juuk begins Pibor County tour today.

Mr. Manyang is expected to visit various locations in Pibor County occupied by Murle ethnic group widely accused of abduction children by neighboring communities.

A hearing and sentence of men accused of abducting children will be done this week making it the first of its kind to sentence out-laws in Jonglei state. All eyes in Southern Sudan are watching carefully the outcome of the judges’ decision on this case.

The Governor leads a high profile team that includes citizens of the area and a group of Arabic language reporters.
