By Ngor Arol Garang

October 2, 2009 (ABYEI) — The President of the Government of Southern Sudan, General Salva Kiir Mayardit, is scheduled to pay a presidential visit to Aweil town, the state capital of Northern Bahr el Ghazal on Monday.

His visit amid the heightened tension between speaker of the state legislative Assembly and legislators is perceived as good opportunity to settle the three years Speaker-members conflict.

The President who is expected to inaugurate lots of developmental projects mainly roads, bridges and state buildings among others will also spare time to personally hear testifying words from selected legislators’ representatives and speaker.

His words to the two parties are hoped to end a tension that peaked and dropped low to sectional grouping. However, most bright intellectuals particularly those whose interest goes with common majority argued peaceful and independent settlement.

Speaking to Sudan Tribune from Juba, Hon. Deng Thiep Akok, at southern Sudan Legislative Assembly said ready to participate in the already formed committee to investigate and audit speaker’s accounts including assembly account.

Hon. Deng who acknowledged being team leader said fully prepared to go and hear from both sides causes of the three years conflict which, according to him, has crippled the assembly from functioning.

“The months consumed by this fight could have been used for legislating beneficial laws to guide executive and other functioning organs of the state government,” he adds.

Asked when they are set to fly, he said, our trip is set and connected to president’s visit. But added they are waiting for information of an official go ahead from the office of the president.

“Hopefully it will be given to us within few hours today;” he said adding they are in communication with president office.

The legislator, who was also asked whether he expects formation of another investigation team, said not aware but was quick to add that information from the president office indicates this team is authorized to fully investigate and audit speaker’s counts and that of the assembly to give final and binding report to the president.

    Mr. President Salva Kiir,

Instead of you thinking of going to Norther Bahr el Ghazal state, I recommend to you that you first go to Bentiu, Unity state to discipline Taban Deng Gai. He should be told to stop doing what he has been doing which results to such minor clashes all the time.

Yes, I think president Mayordit don’t want seat of heroes to lost. It sound good, but most importantly, we need active people to preach the objectives of SPLM/A. I think Mr Thiik is leaned more on rich than his duty. Any way let president do what possible but we Southerners need really speakers, not those who call meeting when the salaries delay.

    Dear Ngor Arol Garang,

I don’t know whether Sudantribune.com is a website is managed by the specialised journalist that understand the ethics and ethos of the professional journalism, this does not need you to answer. You are an employee of UNMIS as logistic officer but how a mere UN supporting staff like you can become a journalist without having gone to school is a mystery and public misleading.

This website should not allow this quack journalist to report the fake stories here, your days are numbered and you will regret having decieved yourself to be a journalist.
