Sudan Misseriya community refuse to implement Abyei ruling

October 5, 2009 (KHARTOUM) – A section of the Arab Misseriya tribe announced today that they will not adhere to the ruling made last July by the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in The Hague which redrew the boundaries of the Abyei region.

The London based Al-Hayat newspaper reported that more than a thousand member of the Misseriya held a conference in Seteib area vowing to challenge the decision of the tribunal.

The tribal leaders said that they lost 56 villages that were awarded to Dinka Ngok which co-inhabits the Abyei region.

They further said that they intend to appeal the court’s verdict at The Hague and the Sudanese Supreme Court.

Both the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) and Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM) said they accepted the PCA’s ruling though the Southern ex-rebels said that the oilfields awarded to the North are still up for grabs.

The speakers at the Misseriya conference accused the NCP of causing the loss of the tribe’s land and warning of “repercussions” because of that.

They also threatened to resort to force should the Dinka refuse to abandon the court’s ruling and agree on letting them retain their villages.

However, they stressed that they do not want war “unless forced to”.

Following the ruling, the Arab Misseriya tribe has demanded that the Sudanese presidency compensate them for the “unjust” ruling that took land away from them, according to one of their senior figures.

Mukhtar Babu Nimir, a Misseriya chief, told the UN sponsored Miraya FM radio at the time that the government must build villages and provide health and education services so that they settle in the area.

However, he reiterated his tribe’s commitment to the PCA decision.

Dear commentators on this website, you now hard how NCP/NIF are setting their goal, yesterday when the GOSS President commented on how NCP has been fueling unrest in the south , some of were quick to point out his weakness as if when you happen to be given the post of being the president of the south you will bring peace in all the southern states and villages in one day.
I would therefore, want to called up those of you who want to make noise any how without analysing what is really going in the south , and come back to your senses to be good and patriotic citizens of today and safen the future for your offspring than focusing on NIF OLD and outdated idiology for keeping us under their islamic york.
I want to commit myself to a total seperation ideas of the south sudan then other issues will be tackle later.

And for our brothers Arab Messieriya lt them not be confues by NCP take their own decision a month after the ruling ,even we southerners were not happy with the ruling which gave out our rich and portential land to the North.
Dear brothers in the NCP/NIF come out of slavery we are reaching morning hours and be free and liberated. KEEP ON MR.PESIDENT but be awear that NCP have started to use Messieriya people against the Dinka Nyok

The decision was made by court and if our neighbors from Misseriya want to challenge the rulling, then they are free to file the case. I believed that Great Dinka Ngok and others Dinkas will really win the case because Abyei is Part of Southerners and ever since Ngok Deng Kuol were the inhabitats who live their for their lives. I think
that should not be a greater issue.

Back to That primitives stone age Rabang Dang, Murle are the first people who killed your mam and dad in the Akobo river-fishing camp. They have killed you like fish in the Akobo river and still they are grave dancing with the goose soul. My friend, Murle are even related by blood, and pysical appearance more with other Dinka than Nuer but different on how they think.
Shilluk are nice great leaders except Dr Lam Akol and their supporters, and the others tribes that you mention Rabnag are great leaders to in the South.
I would absoultely agree when you said Nuer come and let fight Dinka, shilluk, Bari, Acholi, Mundari etc.
My friend dreaming about an foreseen would be a cast your primitives will not leads while great Dinka, Equatorians, Nubas, Fuji, shilluk, Anyuak are in the South.
Its is better to go filled out ajanitor job application in Khartoum for good.
Aleader died firm without supporting enemy.
    Thanks

Riek Machar’s PCA court ruling did the right thing by giving back the land to Ngok-Dinka of Abyei. They are the rightful owners of their land though they foolishly decided to be with Arabs in 1905. That was a result of a weak heart, but can now be rectified. Messeriya should shut up!

That Unity state oil of higlig is not part of the North. Just wait for North-South border demarcation you will see that it truly falls within the territory of Unity state. Don’t lie, the court in the Hague did not give it to the North. They just took it away from Abyei. It is the North-South border demarcation that will decide into where it falls under.

I think it is not right to call our departed hero Dr. Garang a dog. If Garang is a dog, I wonder what kind of animals we can call the likes of you that could not even fit on his shoes. Think twice before you open your mouth to say a word or post a text on the web. We should stop thinking along tribal lines. As we busy your heads with plans to attack the rival tribe or clan in the south, the enemy is busy strategizing on the best ways of killing us to steal the land and resources. Let’s thank God for CPA. You must stop attacking each other on the net; otherwise you are tarnishing the reputation of Sudan tribune. Your disgusting comments are also fueling tension outside. If you comment, kindly propose a solution if you think you know better. God bless you all peace loving Sudanese.
