South Sudan urges private institutions to work with government
October 19, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — The government of Southern Sudan today urged all private institutions operating across the semi-autonomous region to work with the concerned authorities to promote social dialogue and built-up harmony in the region
The Minister of Public Service, Labor and Human Resources Development, Ms. Awut Deng Achuil in a presidential speech she read at the opening session of three days workshop, organized by consortium of private business institutions, headed by Cambridge International College at Juba Bridge Hotel, stressed on the need of private groups to collaborate with the government on capacity building of staff members through in service trainings.
“As you collaborate with the ministry of labor public service and human resource development, you will need to reflect on the best strategies,” she said.
She further added that there is need for the associations and Government to work together to promote awareness on social security and to also promote a positive work culture.
She advised institutions to promote awareness among human resource practitioners, monitor implementation of the anti-corruption policy and raise moral fortitude to fight corruption in the region.
The minister urged to help the government to come up with solutions to address challenges the region is facing as a result of the world economic recession and the direct and indirect impact on human resources in the region.
She further continued to say that the Government will continue to persuade foreign investment into the region to create more employment opportunities and develop the economy.
When there are a lot of private institutions owned by foreigners, it encourages good economic growth of any given country, she commented adding that many people appeared to be unhappy because they say Juba is flooded by foreigners.
“This is not bad. It is development; she said adding Juba has now changed through concerted development by government and private companies.”
She continued to add that when “we get more private particularly foreign companies, it create more jobs to the local people.”

Employing people who do not know anything about economy make a country to go into the hand thief. How can people like Awut Deng criticizes our people beacuse they are talking about their future and future of their children. outsiders should not come to make business in our country. They are talking people opportunity, look at Indonisia, Namibia, Angola, and Haiti how they are. the economy of these country is in hand of different countries, companies and corporations. Their economy is being control by those who are not citizen of those and they are just exploiting people in those countries. they are not creatring job they are bring HIV/AID, chickpox, and swine flu to our country. If they want us to trade with them we will export our commondities to their countries than coming to our country. Awut Deng should not lied to our people she doesn’t know anything about economy.
This companies are looking for cheap labor, they are not doing any development. We have alot of resources to do any development here and there ,bring the foreigners is not creation of job at all but creating trade and exportation is the bestway to creates development than bring many people from different to our homeland creation exportation will allowed our people to go to different countries and to bring what we want. you have to know that to develop the economy is to export more and import less, we don’t want these foreigner to take that opportunity, our people have right to do these than them. shame on Awut Deng. Don’t let yourself be lobby by these company they wented you to sell your people to them. Those money are will not do anything to you than your really brother and sisters.
wellcoming these people into our country is the same way we wellcome the jallaba in to our country today, we have see what they have done to us. we have to learnt from the previous history.
We have our brother and sister who can creates companies and corporations why can we lent them money than calling for companies and coorporations from other nations to do business in our country, look at Zimababwe now, Adut Deng shame on you. Companies and corporations don’t care about poeple, they only care about their money. looked at what canada did to our people in bentiu in 1997 talismen have done bad things to our people. if you don’t know that please come down, our people can do what they want then well coming those people with big money will bring anything they are only bring death to our people.

Thanks Ms Awut Deng,
i believed that is a good idea for Southern Sudan to welcome foreigners to have private institutions in the country.
This institutions : businesses, schools, and others kind of investments can help improved the economy of our country through tax deduction, learning systems and other indirect gains such as education and franchises,and job opportunity.
Noway the citizens of Sudan reject that kind of development. But there should be regulations as we all knows that Businesses or any institutions act under the laws of that country.
They must be very clear with the rules and abide by the laws that governed the country and institutions in the South.
Please brothers and sisters, we can take example from Kenya that there a lot of indians making business and they build good infrustrations that will be the physical asset of kenya. As well: uganda, USA, Asian countries that making business out side their country.
Allowing private institution in the South is a good thing.
