Rumbek North County commissioner to appear in court by Monday
It is absolutely fantastic and welcoming news from Lake State to break the immunity assumed by the top government officials in south Sudan. Make the commissioner to appear in court is like dreams among states bosses, but the fact must remain that, no single human being is immunes from the mighty of law. I believe it should be a weak up calls to those who ignored the senses of humanity and take the laws in their own hands.

It’s better than nothing. I regrettably felt pitty about those young victims when I saw the pictures of the brutalised young men. The rule of law regulates people behaviour when it’s enforced. The matter became civil perhaps partly because victims’s families took the case to court. But the degree of torture amount to human right abuse and thus should have been criminal charge against commissioner. The moves being taken by the State are OK and hopefully the victims will get the justice they need.
