NCP in Western Equatoria State calls to take part in voter registration
November 5, 2009 (YAMBIO, WES) –- The Western Equatoria Chairman of National Congress Party, Awad Kisanga, has called on the entire population to participate fully in the historic voter registration process so as to practice their democratic rights in the electoral process come April 2010. The Leadership of SPLM in the state had on Tuesday made similar call.
Kisanga says voter registration is the only weapon or spear to kill any bad leadership that civilians may think is hampering service delivery.
The Voter Registration which started late in WES as of last Wednesday is characterized as a prelude for the upcoming general elections in April 2010.
Virtually, in some counties of Western Equatoria State voter registration exercise is facing a series of obstacles that have hampered registration centers nationwide since it started on Wednesday.
Bullen Abiatara is the County Commissioner of WES’s Mundri West County, he told Yambio FM Good Evening Show program that, as of last Wednesday National Election Commission High Committee for WES was still training registration officers and delivery of registration materials to all registrations centers in county is in slow path. Mathias Onzi the County Commissioner of WES’s Maridi County echoes the same reasons for the delay of registration process in the county.
However both Commissioners cited optimism of the registration taking place on Thursday.
State High Committee has blamed bad roads and lack of enough finances for the deteriorating delays statewide. The Committee has called of citizens to accord necessary support to registration officers.
In WES’s Nzara County 15 miles away from Yambio, the registration has well kicked off, with high turn up. Col Sentian Ndefu is the County Commissioner; she confirmed that, “there is enthusiasm and willingness among the eligible voters in the county to participate in the registration exercise.
According to NEC State High Committee, there are 223 registration centers statewide, 29 State Geographical Constituencies, 8 southern Sudan Geographical Constituencies and 4 National Geographical constituencies making a total of 41 Geographical Constituencies in Western Equatoria State.
As Western Equatoria State, prepares for its first democratic elections in 24 years, to be held in April 2010. The registration period kicked off with a celebratory start from the Government officials.
But Independent Analysts say the electoral process presents enormous risks to the fragile peace between North and South Sudan. In related phenomena LRA rebels have displaced thousands of Civilians in Western Equatoria State.
Civil society leaders have expressed many concerns about the voter registration process, noting that voter education is not widely available in rural areas, distribution of voting materials is limited in areas not accessible by road, and that concerns about election security could result in low voter turnout. Nevertheless United Nations Mission in Sudan is filling some transportation burdens to remote villages.
Tensions are already running high in South Sudan, where more than 350,000 people have been displaced and more than 2,000 killed this year. The international community must dedicate resources and coordinate efforts to protect civilians and prevent outbreaks of election-related violence that could well contribute to a return to full-scale war.

NCP in Western Equatoria State calls to take part in voter registration
Awad kisanga sound exactly the same like Charless Kisanga of Sudanese People Liberation Army for Dinkas Change SPLA-DC. Anyway its what we call freedom, they can choose what they want, but this time i warn Kiir not to order his dinkas to attack my fellow WES people. I don’t expect horrible thing to happen this time, just like what they did to my lovely sister fews months ago in WES. This is not a time for dictatorship, it is time for participative and persuasive management to act. The corrupt dinkas should learn from this that political choice is an individual choice, like how WES has interface of many parties such as SPLA by Nunu Kuma, SPLA-DC by Charless and NCP by Awad, and for them as wise people they never attack each other for their political choice, but criminal and visionless dinkas are the threat to the peace loving individuals.
A concern citizen should forward their words to [email protected]

Look at the dump NCP chairman in Western Equatoria calls to take part in voter registration and say he has called on the entire population to particpate fully in the historic voter registration process so that they practice their democratic rights to choose a good leaders that they will have a say and freedom while leaving himself out.
How can a citizens of this country choose their leaders while you and your party members have chosen a criminal Basher to run for the president of Sudan in upcoming election or do you think Basher is the leader of your choice.
how can you advice belove citizens of WES while you and LRA stationed in the state to disrrupt the citizens not to turn out and vote and you try to pretend yourself as you say domecratic is the right tool fight rather then speer, guns or Arrow and you were brought by NCP to the state to direct LRA as you and them are part of NCP party.
My Friend that state is more civilise than the party you are in as they are governance by the female governor and has not happen in the history of this country to have such remark since the independent and no one had a problem with her since her appointment.
Please clear your position before the election take place what do you want be in that state, we wellcome you as citizens but NCP and if you are NCP against the freedom of the people of the South than God know the suffering of the people of South Sudan.
Everyone in the South aware about your games but not you as we know many slave politicans and food lovers and doublagency against the right of South, namely Abel Alier, Bona Malual, Joseph Lagu, Ajuk Deng, Lem Akol, Moses Machar, Riek Gai, Gordon Kong, Gabriel Tanyany and yourself plus many more whom their names have not appear.
To you South Sudan is a difference South not like 60s and 70s where individuals think their ideas are right than others but now we have many ideas eventhought we have bad leaders who does not really understand domecracy but they still know the caused of war which mean they are more better 100 times than those politicans who does not know the caused of war.
I know some you came to the SOUTH for the reason to bribes people in which people should think you are more than SPLM so that they vote for party and I know as citizens you will not win in the South unles vote being rigged.

Dear Equatorians,
I am proud of my community, do you too? I am very much sure about that some people will wish to be Dinkas’s born as soon as possible and I am too proud of my people indeed.Dinkas are the oxygen in Sudan and Equtorians are just there to bark at us for unknown reason.Without them,Southern Sudan or the movement will still continue.
I know very well that they are going to allow those of None Christian party (NCP)to play a trick on them. Are they taking part as Southerners or Northerners?
I quoted this very important word from the late Dr.John Garang de Mabior,”Whoever wants to go for green pastures is allowed, even if one of my legs wants to go;I would never bother myself” I like that statement so much.Look at what had happened yesterday to those of SPLM-DC.It is a great shame to them and their communities.
I like being born as a Dinka,I would have killed myself if I were born to useless Equatorians who have no mission and vision in their live.Nuer community is in dilemma.
