Witnesses recount meeting with raiders in Jonglei village

By Philip Thon Aleu

November 22, 2009 (BOR) – Residents of Jonglei capital, Bor, never
slept comfortably during Saturday/Sunday night when commentators
mounted loud speakers on a pick-up car with a message of insecurity
build-ups in villages very close to the town.

To assert the reality of raiders marauding villages and raiding
cattle, child abduction and killing people in the process, Sudan
Tribune spoke to witnesses in one of the affected villages in a
situation that Jonglei Gov. Kuol Manyang Juuk describes as “regrettable and
violation of basic human rights.”

At least five people have died and five children abducted in the last
three days of abduction cases in Jonglei’s Bor County. On
Saturday, women fetching firewood in Anyidi Payam accidentally found
armed men meeting at area called Pan Ajuoi according to a letter dated
November 21 circulated to neighboring administrative units and
seen by the Sudan Tribune.

In Bor town many residents are recent villagers displaced by surging
insecurity and have substantial families’ members living in the
villages. This is why they were informed partly to reinforce their kin
or risking looming attackers’ strikes.

Sudan Tribune interviewed some witnesses, claiming to have seen strange
armed men, on Sunday in Makuach Payam where tension is increasingly
worsening.

Wal Mach, Panchol Pach and Akuot Alier told the Sudan Tribune how they
separately narrowly escaped kidnapping by armed men blamed for
carrying out multiple raids in recent days. According to the
eyewitnesses, the armed men are Murle tribesmen.

Texts of their description on Sunday November 22 at Makuach Payam
Headquarters are below;

“I was moving from my home (west of Makuach HQs) to Payam center at
10am (local time) yesterday (Saturday) when I saw two men crossing the
road. Their interest, as dictated by their movement, was on some
grazing cattle but they changed direction on seeing me observing them.
They were holding guns and long wooden walking stick. I realized they
are Murle when they avoid paths and occasionally bending down after
moving a distance away from me. There is doubt because their (Murle)
dressing is unique. Second, our young men on duty for Saturday’s
protection routine were still in here (Makuach) by that time. I
informed them (local youths) to be vigilant because strangers are
moving about and may take their cows. They went but found them far
from sight,” Mr. Pach narrated.

Then Wal Mach text is: “On Thursday, we (men patrolling around the
Payam) when to Agon forest (in the east of Makuach). We found a lot of
footmarks which created wide paths. We even got a fire probably use by
the outlaws. We followed them but never saw anybody till we returned.
We believe these are Murle because we don’t expect any folks of
hunters in our forest.”

Akuot Alier, a woman who when mowing grass on Saturday, narrates her
ordeal as follows:

“I was busy cutting grasses (in forest) but gone a frightening sound
of footsteps from something moving toward me. I raised my head and saw
some men a few meters away advancing in my direction. I ran away and
they shouted to me in a strange language. They are Murle because we
share border with them and are always abducting our children. I am
afraid. They may strike anytime.”

In this season of the year, women mow grass for building grass-thatch
huts. Hunting – though fading with government introduction of
militarized wildlife protection units, is also at the highest scale.
As bushing starts, penetrations of forest ease and directly relieve
raiders from burden of thick grass shielding – thus, the raiding
incidences increases.

By Sunday, the number of people killed has increased to five after
local leaders in Makuach Payam reports that a female wildlife officer
was killed earlier last week at Dhion – the area largest church and
another in Malith-thor while grazing cattle. Another man critically
injured at Mai-thok on Saturday evening is transferred to Bor Civil
Hospital. Deng Thokluoi of Anyidi Payam is unable to talk to the press
when visited on Sunday.

On Saturday November 21, gunmen manhandled a mother at Panaper, an
area three miles south of Bor town, kidnapped her three sons and
killed an elder brother who the night’s resisted abduction. One person
was wounded during the contest to rescue the children. Of the abducted
children, a 13 year-old boy managed to escape and return early
Saturday to Bor town. Hours after Panaper incident, three children
grazing goats in Palabach were abducted also on Saturday. A woman
mowing grass was killed in Kolnyang and another injured in attempting
to escape from armed men. A pedestrian was killed on Friday en route
to Anyidi Payam to bring the number of dead to 5.

After a half an hour drive into these scattered villages of Makuach
where the mood was calm compared to the scale announced last night,
prayers in synagogues were on going smoothly – as usually. The
situation appears basically normal in that neither is raiding new in
these villages nor is the snail speed of government respond to
insecurity reports. Civil Administrators and traditional chiefs
respond densely when asked what to do in case of a strike seem as
imminent. The government preparation or intervention by dispatching
troops to these volatile villages based on surging abduction cases or
efforts to quell the tension or assures protection is not visible
either, the villagers say.

“We shall try to defend ourselves and our territory if they attack
us,” Panther Gai, the head chief of Makuach Payam swiftly responded
adding that “if they don’t strike, we shall not follow them. We are
not the government to teach bandits [lawfulness].” The head chief was
speaking as few armed youths dance in show of ability and readiness to
save children and women lives in the other part of the iron-fenced
compound.

Makuach Civil Administrator Philip Mabil Duot, however, observes that
Bor County does not have enough capacity to provide adequate security.
Mr. Mabil calls on state armed forces to help patrolling areas close
to Bor town “because this not only our enemy but a [security] threat
to the state.”

Speaking to UNMIS sponsored Miraya FM; Gov. Kuol Manyang Juuk
denounces the renewing raids and child abduction. Gov. Kuol says the
criminals are disturbing voter registration which is a national
exercise ought to be conducted in peaceful atmosphere.

“What has happened is regrettable….and a violation of basic human’s
rights,” Gov. Kuol says.

Cattle rustling in South Sudan and related consequences have left at
least 2,000 people dead and 1.2 millions other exposed to starvation
in 2009, the UN says. Most of the tribal conflicts occurred in
volatile Jonglei state in 2009.

Science prove that love is blind!!!

Science proves that love is blind
Wednesday, 18th November, 2009 E-mail article Print article

Love tends to suppress the area of the brain that controls critical thought

    Grain of science
Scientists have shown that there is a degree of truth in the old adage love is blind. They have found that feelings of love lead to a suppression of activity in the areas of the brain controlling critical thought.

It seems that once we get close to a person, the brain decides the need to assess their character and personality is reduced. The study, by University College London (UCL), is published in NeuroImage.

The researchers found that both romantic love and maternal love produce the same effect on the brain. They suppress neural activity associated with critical social assessment of other people and negative emotions.

The UCL team scanned the brains of 20 young mothers while they viewed pictures of their own children, children they were acquainted with and adult friends. The team found that the patterns of brain activity were very similar to those identified in an earlier study looking at the effects of romantic love.

Both studies recorded increased activity in parts of the brains reward system. When these areas are stimulated as they can be by food and drink, or even monetary gain they produce feelings of euphoria.

But perhaps more surprisingly, both studies also showed reduced levels of activity in the systems necessary for making negative judgements.

Similar findings have been found in animal studies. Lead researcher Dr Andreas Bartels said it was crucial that both romantic and maternal love were viewed by the brain in a highly positive way because both were crucial to the perpetuation of the species.

He said: Our research enables us to conclude that human attachment employs a push-pull mechanism that overcomes social distance by deactivating networks used for critical social assessment and negative emotions, while it bonds individuals through the involvement of the reward circuitry explaining the power of love to motivate and exhilarate.

The research did highlight one difference in the brains response to romantic and maternal love. Only romantic love triggered heightened activity in the hypothalamus which controls feelings of arousal.

Murle are minutes tribes who roam in the forest looking for somthing to eat because they do not grow crops and they do not have cattle for their diet.
The parasites will stop stealing when they are hunt in their Manayatas/huts in the forest.

The tooth for tooth, and eye for an eye will be appropriate in the south and after that we will respect each other.
I thought that will help us built relationship among ourselves but if the attackers are almost forgive then they will not know that there consequences of stealing of raiding others properties.

GOSS need to formulate a new environmental policy, the environment need control, this way we can also control everything surrounding the area we live, like residential areas do not need alot of grass or tree, they have to be reduce to reasonable levels, this is improve the view of the area, it will also make it easy to see across and make it hard to criminals to hide or plan attacks from forests near towns then escape without trace, most criminals are taking advantage or the environment which include thick forests and tall grass and so on, they use this to their advantages tio hide and plan crimes, so jongolie state and whole of south sudan need to look at the surrounding where they live and reduce the amount of trees and grass and then include a small security post in every area, especially in states like jongolie with high random cattle raid, they need to do more work on the security front. so environmental policy has to go inline with security and other development process.

Dinka Dog and the rest of Jonkozs

These days the relationship between Murle and Bor were coming closer and closer every single day, but your greed wake you up when you decided to remove the speaker who was Murle and replaced him with Dinka Bor primitive who never said a word since when he was nominated by Bor engine.

Dinka Bor started to harras Murle civilians in Juba ( the capital of semi autononimous region) all the time, Murle are denied any short of freedom by you primitive so called leadership whom most of them bought certificates and degrees with stolen money.

Kiir, the president of Southsudan, and vice president of Sudan had approved Pibor county to be divided into three counties ( Pibor, Gumuru, and Buma) but Bor leadership refused to give ok to those counties to be officilized.

Murle tried their might best to arrest and discourage those Murle criminals from kidnapping and raiding Dinka Bor, but Bor community did nothing to discourage their criminals from attacking or provocking Murle individuals.

As from now, the Murle leadership has fed up with Dinka Bor weak and tribalistic leadership which is empowered by Dinkanization engine and fuel.

Murle as from now still willing to accept genunine peace and normally reject any peace with Dinka Bor that contain hiden agendas though.

Murle called upon Dinka Bor leadership to either choose between real peace and permenant war with Murle and Murle as you know will never get tired to face anyone in armed way.

Philip Thon tries to get attention from the west because he think that, the western countries will listen for his tribally driven rhetorics. Getting that Westhern countries are always fair for everyone and ready to scrutinized any piece of story before passing the verdict.

Please brothers choose want is best for you.

Remember, if Murle want to attack, no body will stop them include you Dinkanized SPLA may run like chickens. In addition, don’t try to celeberate independent before you got it. The tribes of SOuthSudan may not accept your independent while knowing that, Dinka are only waiting independent for them to start dirty war against other tribes. If that is your aim, the Southerners will rather choose Bashier to be the president so that he will mistreate all of us instead of being mistreated by their own black butt brothers, the ugly creatures called Dinkas.

Please don’t celeberate yet because the truth is still inside the sheild.

If you aginst Murle, please you will never, never, and never defeat them. You can have 2 billion Phds not bachelors degrees, but Murle don’t care about all these PhDs, if you want to test that, please send your 2 billion PhD holders to roam arround in Murle land since they are educated, and that way you will see the consquences.

Again, Murle are not Murle of 1960 or 70. If you don’t learn about them now, you will learn them in 100 years to come.

I hope each of you who read this note enjoy it. Very GOOD NOTE

It is good that, you responded that way, we love the war too homy, Let me tell you the secret now, Murle secret service came to learn that, DINKA Bor are planning for war against Murle yet, Koul Manyang went to United Stated to generate money for Murle Bor war, and we knew it earlier than that.

However, the Murle are not going to wait to recieve the same fate like what Garang did to Murle in 1988 where he killed 12,000 civilians in Nanam river and 6000 other civilians in Kengen rever in 1989. From now Murle will go ahead and write a report to the white house, human right watch, Capital hill, Panagon, and and the rest of the governments which includes Australian, Canadan, Swedish, Italian, and other governments to have this note for there furhter references. The report also indicated that, the money have been generated by those Dinka Bor lost boys in America, Canda, and Australia which was blessed by Koul Manyang during his visit. And if something happen, there are two things the world and Murle leadership need to executed in observation for international laws.

    1. All the lost boys who generated money will be detected with the help of strong American, Canadian, Australian, technologies and those who are involve must be tried as terrorist in this conjuction.

    2. Koul Manyang must be indicted to the ICC to face his criminal charges as genocide masterminder.

More definitely, most of you will find themselves inside that music festival

Go ahead with you conspiracies. Hahahahahah. Not Murle of 1960s

    God bless

    Mr. Liber Ator

I am glad that you have decided to come back to the system which had been ruined by your filthy characters years ago as you know me and you know each other very well steming back to the November of 2007.

Simply, Murle need peace with Bor, but the only thing Murle can not do is that, they can not give any single chance for Dinka Bor to play with their minds again. Murle know more than Dinka Bor as we speak. believe it or not.

You are very right, Bor might be well recognized by arabs when we are going to decid to go back to the unity because Bor are expert in sycopany/slavery. Please don’t even try to construe that Jodi resigned, he had been forced by Koul and his team to resign and of course Bor united their votes against him for his defeat, Jodi did not want to resign. If you not are liar, another Murle would have been nominated to replace Jodi if he had decided to resign and you people were still want Jongolei to remain united or represented fairly. But your greed didn’t let you to do so, now shut up.

After all, Murle don’t worry about that at all, all Murle civilians want is to face Dinka Bor civilians face to face without the presence of SPLA soldiers whom they use for their personal shield. Yes we need to see Dinka Bor as Dinka Bor and test their manhood when the fair and central government like the one of Bashier rule us all.

Brother, remember that, you can not decieve even a dog today and you need to know that.

After 2011, Jokoz will be placed back to where they belong 27 years ago, and it will happen. R. Garang. Hahahahahah.

    Deal with it.

    God bless
