Speaking to reporters at a press conference in Khartoum, Abel Alier, chairman of the National Electoral Commission, on Monday 23, said his commission seeks urgent financial supports from both government of National Unity and International community.

“We are asking international organizations and governments to honor and deliver their pledges for successful conduct of the upcoming elections in the country, he stressed.

However, he was to admit having received assistances from some countries and international organization but said the received funds were for publicity.

“We actually received the money but were specifically meant for the media, he said saying encouraged countries and organizations to work with the commission.”

“The commission needs your assistances; we are seeking their help and welcome wanting to see what we are doing with the assistance they provide,” he added.

2010 poll in Sudan will be the first in more than 20 years under the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) that ended over two decades of civil war between north and south Sudan.

US offered $25million, Japan offered 10million, lets not mention other amounts by EU and others, Where has all this money gone? and where is the budget of the Sudan government to add to all this? This theives just want to get rich from this elections when we know NCPO has already been rigging the election. Abel Alier is a big mistake from the begining.
