South Darfur state governor affirms that cease-fire agreement is holding
KHARTOUM, April 18, 2004 (SUNA) — South Darfur State’s Wali (Governor) Gen. Adam Hamid Mussa has affirmed that the cease-fire agreement, recently signed in Nidjamina, Chad, between the government and rebel groups in Darfur, is holding without any violations from the two parties in the state.
In a press statement following his meeting with the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Engineer Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid Saturday, the Wali pointed to arrangements between the state and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs for the repatriation of the displaced people who desire to return to their villages during this month before the beginning of the rainy season.
