Kiir urges Uganda to lead recognition of independent South Sudan

By Ngor Arol Garang

November 25, 2009 (JUBA) — General Salva Kiir Mayardit, First Vice-President of the Republic of Sudan and President of the semi-autonomous region of Southern Sudan, has on Wednesday 24, in both Moyo and Adjumani Districts of Uganda, urged Ugandans to lead recognition of the independent state of South Sudan if referendum votes favor secession.

“If referendum favors southern secession from the North to become an independent state, South Sudanese in Uganda expects Uganda to take the lead in recognizing South Sudan as an independent country if South Sudanese voted for secession in the 2011 referendum,” Kiir said.

The Sudanese First Vice President, who left Juba for Uganda for bilateral talks on border dispute, after an official invitation from Ugandans President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, further said, Ugandans and Southern Sudanese are the same and one people.

“Ugandans and South Sudanese are people of one common objective; and that they have to work together so that they get set goals,” he said.

Commenting on the issue of border disputes which necessitated his visit, he said misunderstanding arising from territorial rivalry should not divert us from the joint Southern Sudanese and Ugandan vision.

“I think we can find solutions to whatever misunderstanding that might have occurred,” he commented saying South Sudanese in Northern Uganda and elsewhere in the country, should live with Ugandans as one people without giving in for ill separation, the President said. The same applies to Ugandans in any part of Southern Sudan, Kiir added.

Kiir is further said that the border conflict and insecurity in southern Sudan started after the peace agreement peace in 2005; it was not there during the war.

“Not only in Moyo (northern Ugandan near Sudan’s border) that we are having problems; there are also tribal wars in Southern Sudan; all these conflicts are happening because someone is behind them, their aim is just to create chaotic situations for reasons best known to them, that means there are some people who are working day and night so that there is instability in South Sudan. Let us not allow it. Let nobody agitate you so that you quarrel amongst yourselves,” he stressed.

Kiir who seems turning his back on Sudan’s unity after four year of a peace deal signed with the National Congress Party in 2005, tried during his European tour to campaign in favor of separation and to draw EU support for southern Sudan independence.

However, last month his government dismissed remarks where he called for southern Sudan independence describing vote for a united Sudan as voting for “second class” citizenship.

Ugandan President, Yoweri Kaguta Musevesni, stressed that what is happening in the border area is not a dispute, “it is simply misunderstanding which will be handled and solved by the brothers and sisters of our two sister countries amicably.” He is further reported having said misunderstanding

Salva Kiir Mayardit and many others must be careful with the Yoweri Museveni.
I honor the comments made by one of my brother yesterday.
HE SAID 5 presidents were killed by Ugandan president.

This man( Yoweri) is the silence killer of the South sudanese leaders.

There is aproblem when southern leaders use his plane. Why?
this man has difference vision in the South, but this Uganda will smell fire when caught for this ill act.
We can not afford something like the death of DR Garang mabior.
We still have the tears on Ugandan eventhough mr Yoweri smile showing the bright teeth while devil in his heart.
they attempt to commited the same incident, but they fail.
Nothing that can happen to our leaders at this moment until the finish their duties for ever.
Yoweri is the devil killer that almost to be caught.

What are they doing, these Ugandans and the officials in South Sudan? They are planning for something not in the interest of the Sudan!!.Dr. Grang was a true unionist, he was killed. Yes, we know Uganda is a tourist country but this alone will never justify all this flirtations!!!. Common objective, common vision, and the list is long. I don’t know whether we should call it “South Sudan” or “North Uganda”? It seems it is not a call for recognition of an Independent Southern Sudan but an anexation of it to Uganda.Southern Sudan is in the process of being paid to Uganda in “a gold plate”. The sudanese should be aware of that. The dowery of Southern Sudan has been very high; it cannot be taken a way in that simple way!!!. Southern Sudan is crucial for the sovereignty and dignity of the great people of Sudan!!!

Dear brothers from Equatoria and Nuer community,

Bear in mind that Salva Kiir is not going to die though you think so.Even if he dies today, another Dinka will still take over please for my best known reasons.

Dinkas are not bad but due to your being thick headed people that is why you don,t differentiate things. The whole World loves Dinkas for their being hard hearted and wise people in Sudan.

    We are known over,supposing that we would have not tuned to the language that Arabs understand better;

Dinkas are the majority and they are the peaceful people in Sudan. You may not agree with me due to your being mad but the facts remain that they are the peaceful community in Sudan.Let’s go back, back in order to go forward, there was no any Dinka who fought against our mother SPLA/M during the war but majority of the people from Nuer community and useless Equatoria went for green pastures in Khartoum but Dinkas managed it to fight them.

Whoever doesn,t want to support SPLA/M at this time is free to go but we shall still get them even if the manage to go back to their mothers’ wombs.Dinkas are not going to be defeated in Sudan whether you like it or not.We must rule and we shall be ruling through out if you don,t change your ill.wills against Dinkas.

In term of fighting,we shall still defeat people leave a lone table discussion .Our wisdom is from Heaven and it can not be acquired from the school. People use to complain that Kiir Mayardit is not qualified to be a president of Southern Sudan for he has no the title of being a doctor.Shame on those who normally say such a word.

Our Doctors are mad and if not; then they will run amok within a short period of time.We are trying now to forgive one of them but we shall not forget about the crime that he committed in 1991.Those who fight change must be changed by changed its self.

Salutation President Dr. Salva Kiir for your recognition our country sister Ugandan for their participation.

Ugandan participate more than other fellow African countries in giving SOuthern Sudan their freedom and to rule their country as African.

I wish, Ugandan will play more roles and lead Southern Sudan referendum in 2011.
