Darfur JEM supports calls for sanctions on NCP officials

December 1, 2009 (PARIS) – The Darfur Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) voiced support to a report compiled by an anti-genocide group which urged the United States and other major powers to slap sanctions on senior figures from the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) in Sudan.

The ‘Enough Project’ report accused the NCP of backtracking on the 2011 referendum in South Sudan as well as democratic transformation in preparation for the April 2010 elections which threatens to reignite civil war in the country.

“Violence against civilians continues unabated in Darfur and in southern Sudan, and the ruling National Congress Party, or NCP, continues to act in bad faith and undermine lasting peace in Sudan. In Darfur, relief organizations clearly do not have access to large areas of Darfur, and those that do have access to vulnerable populations no longer publicize their assessments for fear of expulsion. The NCP is blocking the establishment of conditions for free and fair elections and seeks to undermine a self-determination referendum scheduled for 2011. Intercommunal violence in southern Sudan is increasing, with growing evidence that Khartoum’s divide and destroy policies are partly to blame” the report reads.

“The United States must firmly respond now by forging a coalition of nations willing to implement the multilateral pressures and consequences that will prevent full-scale war from breaking out again in Sudan”.

The top military commander for JEM argued that the scope of sanctions should be expanded to include members of the military and judiciary.

“The smart sanctions we support as effective to put a halt to the crimes against humanity committed by this junta” the army commander of JEM Suleiman Sandal told Sudan Tribune by satellite phone.

“We call on the international community and [UN] Security council to adopt these recommendations and all those who believe in the values of justice against the NCP who work against the interest and the will of the Sudanese people” Sandal said.

The US rolled out a new strategy on Sudan last October which included a confidential annex detailing consequences for non-compliance by Khartoum.

The non-disclosure prompted skeptical response from Sudan activists who assert that there is no way to tell whether Sudan is meeting the benchmarks set by Washington or the potency of the sanctions.

However, a senior US official speaking to reporters on background at the State Department at the time told reporters that the administration feels “confident that what we have in the classified annex as quite serious; it does involve all elements of national power”.

The earlier a sickness is threated, the lower the chances of danger/getting worst or dead and or the lower the chances of spread of the disease to the health people.

Every Sudanese, except NCP, has lost interest in the US Oboma administration policy on Sudan.

It is useless to talk about Sudan US affairs.Sudan(Khartoum)recently warned US not interfere on Darfur if the problem there is to be resolved.

    To: Darfuri JEM.

I am absolutely agree with you Darfuri JEM perhaps, the National Congress Members are not supposed to be left out from Omar al Bashir indictment simply, because they were the one who pushed Ahamed Hassan Omar al Bashir to do this war crimes in the Sudan and even now they are still following the last disaster policies which had caused 3 million lives in North-South war and that will be the end of National Congress Party.

Look the well known dictatorship Adolf Hitler of Germany government were acting very primitively by killing Jewish people just for unknown reason, but later after when his government fallen and defeated during the Second world war II, they members of that Party are not known in this world of Today and same thing this National Congress Party are going to face same situation as well as the Adolf Hitler’s Party in Germany.

Solution for Sudan government, all oppositions Parties are urgy to united togethers and their effort is needed to be very strong in everything they want to do just like Southern Sudanese people. I was so mood when I saw Darfurian people are laughing with Omar al Bashir during the time he was visited to Darfuri Regions in three time and I saw people on TV, have warmly welcoming Omar al Bashir to that Region he had committed genocide and people there are happy just like there is nothing happen to them that is amazing me to watch.

Finally, my friends I would llike you to tell your Darfurian people that, changing Old government to New government is not something that going to finish over night and it does not needed only for you to put your hopes on others nations, but you are absolutely responsible to try everything possible so that, your new generation will be proud for what you did to them and that is what you all Darfurian people want to do now. Darfurian people are very largest in Sudan Military ground and Air Force there is no doubt on that unfortunately, I had never hear a large of Darfurian defected to support their Darfuri Rebels who are now fighting for all Darfurian rights. Look the Southern Sudanese people were very good at this point especially during civil war time, some came out to join SPLA/SPLM Movement even though some peopl like Lam Akol Ajawin and others were confusing themselves but the larges numbers of Southern Sudanese people were strongly focusing the main goal of the SPLA/SPLM Movement and the SPLM Party now are they only major Party who will lead Sudan or most Regions from Central Sudan will go with Southern Sudan if gain referendum time.

The Sudanese President Acts of Criminal has surpassed that of Iraqi President!!!

It is indeed; that we fail to understand why the US’s speed of sanction on Sudanese president and his followers is running-on about 10km/h in-about100km/h zone while to Iraq was in a dramatic run-on about 99km/h in-about 100km/h zone? Why is Sudan left to be ruled by the criminal, whom sanction is imposed on him? In human being common sense, what types of out-comes do we expect from the accused criminal? People always hope for nothing good out-comes on such leaders but genocidal decisions. Mr. Saddam Hussein of Iraq was only caught within the period of one month while it was none recommended by Iraqi people. Why does it need to be a year and/or more to catch Criminal President Bashir while majority of Sudanese citizens recommend the sanction to be imposed?

It brings the nationalists to understand that President Bush leadership was more effective and efficiency to save the victims of war criminal from cruel leaders while President Obama is more effective and efficiency on Economic-Change.

The change we expect from Mr. Obama, was in the presumption that may involve saving even the darkest part of the world such as Sudan-Darfur, South Sudan and others. The sanction on Sudan NCP should have a timeframe limit otherwise, it won’t relief Sudanese.
