Malaysia to send second humanitarian mission to Sudan
KUALA LUMPUR, April 19, 2004 (Bernama) — Malaysian e-Hospitals and five medical associations will send a mission to Sudan on a week-long humanitarian mission on May 5.
The mission will supply medicines for malaria and onchorcerciasis (river blindness) to at least 1,000 Sudanese, said Organising Secretary Major (Rtd) Abu Bakar Suman in a statement Monday.
He said he would accompany the group comprising four consultant specialists and medical staff.
Abdul Bakar said the mission was at the request of the Sudanese President himself following the success of a similar mission on Dec 13, 2002.
