Voter registration in Sudan reaches 68%

December 5, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — The National Elections Commission (NEC) has said the rate of the voters’ registration in all states of the Sudan has reached 68% or 13,294,060 voters till Saturday, 5 December.

The Commission on November 30 said it has so far registered more than 11 million voters in the 15 Northern states and 2.6 million voters in the 10 Southern states.

But in its announcement today the electoral board didn’t provide further details on the voter registration operation as it will conclude on Monday December 7.

Also last week the NEC raked Unity state as the first among the country’s 25 states during the ongoing turnout for voter registration, Western Bahr el Ghazal state, another Southern state, is named in the second position while Kassala state in the North ranks in the third position.

Khartoum state, the seat of the national government, is said to be in the fourth position, followed in the fifth position by Central Equatoria state, the seat of the semi-autonomous Government of Southern Sudan.

I personally don’t believe that such result, lets Monday comes with other good news nor such a news.

How comes for the ten Southern States have 2.6 million voters registered and Northern States have 11 million voters registered. Those who take half of a report to the media without consultation from others are the problems.

That is the way census result are rejected.

    Shame…………..!

    Please revise otherwise.
