Speaking at the Police station, Lual Chan and Sebit Hassan expressed dismay over alleged police failure to deal with a spate of armed robbery incidents in their area known as hillat Carton.

They told police division commander who identified himself during official introduction to petitioners as Hamid Awad El-Jaz that despite reporting to the police about the on-going armed robbery in their area, the latter have shown little cooperation.

Reading a statement by the residents to officer, one of the residents, Ms Asha Dudu, said for the past six weeks more than five families have been assaulted and robbed of their properties. So far, she said, Police have not solved any of the cases.

She continued to say they are now living in constant fear following a series of robberies carried out by gangs of youths armed with sub-machine guns, hammers and other locally made weapons.

The resident went further to add that the situation forced them to hold several meetings on the situation at which they decided to send some of the affected people to inquire about the progress of their cases.

According to her, she said those who have been making follow-ups at both Hillat Kuku and Sharwahat police stations have reportedly ended up being harassed.

Speaking later, elder Deng Kur who is also a resident, said the way the law enforcement agents have been handling the incidents, has made them lose confidence with the Police Force.

The Police Force has failed to fulfill its responsibilities professionally. Sometimes they don’t even record statements of the affected people; to me that is lack of professionalism, he said.

However, on his part, the officer who attentively listened to oral complains supporting petition could not react to the sentiments, but asked the residents for a week during which he would follow up their claims and consult his superiors.

    Damn NCP!!

This incident indictates NCP’S weakness interm of protecting people.

The key role of any governing party in the world is to provide secuirity to its citizens

But failure to achieve this vital service to the people constitutes Sudan as a failed State.

NCP must give way to other political parties capable of protecting our people.

They may be Behind this escalating robbery of innocent people, especially when sudanese went for peaceful demonstration.

Politicians like Nafe Ali Nafi, Taha, and Bashir are only interested in serving their Tribes.

What some Sudansee do not understand is that, the Sudanese Police and security has not been established to protect them, it has been established to harras them and arrest them only, and to protect NCP officials only.
