SPLA foils LRA fresh attacks in Bahr El-Gazal

December 18, 2009 (RUMBEK) – The Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) said Ugandan rebel of Lord Resistant Army (LRA) attempt to attack Kor-Al-Madina in Western Bahr-El-Gazal at Raja County of (Wau).

“On the December17, 2009 at 8am, LRA attacked Darfur Internal displaced people (IDP) camp in Kor-Al-Madina; one of the villages of Raga County. Eleven SPLA solider managed to fight LRA in that camp and IDP were protected by our forces,” said official spokesman Major General Kuol Deim Kuol.
“Our SPLA forces had so much of intelligence to discover the attempted attack and successful situation was brought under control,” Kuol disclosed.
Kuol said that on December 15, LRA had attempted to attack Kor-Al-Madina,. “Our battalion 308 which was developed in that village did wonderful work. The LRA before they could come to the villages, they killed area chief and abducted one small girl.”
“For the last two days, our forces were perusing LRA,” he added
Deim also noted that the numbers of abducted people are not yet clear. “We did not get actual numbers of abducted people”.
The Ugandan Army spokesperson Lt Col Felix Kulayigye Saturday told Sudan Tribune that, “Kony is believed to be hiding in Western Bahr El Ghazal, where the Ugandan Army continue to hunt him down, however Sudan Tribune could not verify this claim independently.
The Ugandan Army Spokesperson dismissed reports citing LRA to be regrouping in northern Congo, calling it “rubbish, the UPDF is on the ground, there is no way LRA can strike.”
The military spokesperson said the LRA rebel have started to be very active in Raja county of Western Bahr-El-Gazal state, but their activities become vigorous in Western Equatoria state (WES)” said Kuol.
Nevertheless, Deim affirmed that SPLA is sending in more troop forces to put to an end of harassment committed by LRA in WES and Western Bahr-El-Gazal state in the county of Raja.
The youth of Kor-Al-Madina managed to indentify the hiding places of LRA, “we will work with those youth because they are showing fastidious cooperation.”
Maj-Gen Kuol noted that “LRA is reorganizing training somewhere; they have received ambition and new guns and now become active once again”.
Kuol declined to explain what he termed as “traditional friend of LRA”, he said that our concern is that LRA is shifting to Darfur inspecting supply from its traditional friends.
We are doing our best to provide security to our people.
Kuol also appreciated the move of WES arrow boys offensive toward LRA. He added that WES arrow boys are showing light to protect civilian there.
“We are cooperating with them as well with youth in Raja County of Western Bahr-El-Gazal state; youth are showing friendly cooperation to SPLA military to pursue LRA out of the Southern Sudan territory.”

This what I am talking about. The Great SPLA is kicking the LRA asses. LRA, do not mess with the Dinkas. They will chase you all the way to Equatoria land where you belong. I wonder why the SPLA spokesman called it a success and the LRA have already killed the area chief and abducted a young girl! It is a crisis already and loss has ocurred. We should talk with sense of condolence rather than sounding noble after the failed task to protect the unarmed members of Raja.

Even coward Kuol can recall that AB are brave Equatorians who can protect themselves with arrows. It is time to use the guns aganist the real enemy not Mundari. Final my message to those LRA to clear Bor villages into ash like what is happening in Durfur, and this will bring the horns of dinkas under control. When the killing was in Greater Equatoria all dinkas were singing song of joy and accussing that those LRA are pure Equatorians now face the bitter.

LRTA in Bahr el Gahzal? What a joke this so called LRA? who are they what is their objective? why would they want to attack the area, any reasons? It is the Arab terrorist of NCP and also foreigners who are helping the LRA now trying to cause more instability, but let them bring it on, they will soon regret, we have to track both the sources, connections and hideouts of this LRA, not just the rebel fighters, those who are funding and training the LRA are foreigners eating and sleeping with us in the same bed here in Sudan.

SPLA and UPDF have to keep watch of the local Sudanse arm forces movement, both sides need to increase their security and intelligence presence around the area, they might be trying to hide Konmy or smuggle him out, LRA movement needs to be motitored tightly so Kony does not escaped and is either capture or killed before he escapes away.

Fellow southerners, it’s with great satisfaction to see Dinkas panicking in their own back yard. Long while ago Dinkas thought atrocities caused by LRA in WES were never gonna sent waves of fear down their spines. But thanks to arrows boys we equatoria stood firm and fought Konyi men to the point of no return.
But now, all i can do is, sit and enjoy this naked cowards running back into the bush like dogs without tails. My friends Oduko and Mr Famous Big_Logic_Boy are very right when they brand Dinkas as “biggest cowards in southern sudan”.
