Northern Bahr el Ghazal calls for youth supports to the state

December 21, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — Authorities from Southern State of Northern Bahr el Ghazal have on Monday called on youth to give their supports to the state administration to implement developmental projects.

Jacob Yel Garang, an SPLM youth League Chairperson at the state, said the government of Northern Bahr el Ghazal has exceptionally done well in all areas but still needs youth to extend their supports to the state government under General Paul Malong Awan whom he described as “hero, able and exceptional leader”.

He further said, Aweil town, the state capital of Northern Bahr el Ghazal has completely changed. There are a lot of new buildings including storey buildings cropping up all over the town, he adds.

“If you have never visited Aweil after the appointment of Governor Malong, just come during this Christmas season and you will get the difference I am talking about from previous administrations,” he said.

He continued to say the governor is committed and determined to bringing the desperately needed changes to the state.

“Because of these commitment and determination being seen through current developmental projects, I called upon Northern Bahr el Ghazal Youth group not to forget their role in development by supporting Government programs as the year 2010 approaches,” he said.

However, four of the contestants against the sitting Governor Malong have already expressed readiness to contest the post.

Earlier, Jacob said youth should avoid being idle and identify Government programs they can support.

“I would like to encourage the youth, as we go into 2010 elections, not to be idle but support Government programs that are beneficial to them,” Yel said.

Mr. Yel said, Youth, as the clock of New Year move faster, they must find time to reflect on their contribution to state development despite the state’s inability to employ all of them.

He also urged youth to be innovators to become self-employed and employers of others asking youth to avoid being involved in violence, saying they must promote peace.

We should also help facilitate enhanced cooperation among political parties in the interest of democracy, he said appealing to youths to support efforts of political parties to work together in order to build on democracy.

Salva Kiir has been looting money of oil of Upper Nile to build his own state and left Upper Nile civilians with hunger and undevolvement. Where you got that money if it is not Upper Nile money. Just loot, but time is coming for you and you group to leave and go to look after cows.

South Sudan needs development that can be seen by the whole World therefore, for those of Oduck Bol etc. they are complaining what they don’t know. Look at him he is from Upper Nile where 2% of the oil share is given, what next? When you misuse your own share on other things then please don’t blame or accuse others who have organized themselves in their state otherwise.

Kuol Manyang and Malong Awan are doing their best in South Sudan. Kuol is bringing back black NCP agents to SPLM party which is a part of development plus many other.
