By Manyang Mayom

December 21, 2009 (RUMBEK) – Four Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) fighters were slain in an attack Saturday on their hiding places at Boro-Al-Madina village located in Raja County of Western Bahr-El-Ghazal, according to the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) official spokesman Major General Kuol Diem Kuol.

Maj-Gen. Kuol Diem Kuol says that LRA fighters are receiving assistance from the Khartoum government.
Maj-Gen. Kuol Diem Kuol says that LRA fighters are receiving assistance from the Khartoum government.
Kuol affirmed that SPLA forces attacked the notorious Ugandan rebel forces on the morning of December 19, 2009. “Our forces attacked the hideout of the LRA, they fought, after the battle, the total of LRA reported found dead are four, while one SPLA was killed and four are likely wounded. The LRA left behind large quality of food, most of which are Dak, made in North Sudan”.

The LRA forces were located on December 18. Following the attack, the LRA reportedly fled toward Central African Republic.

He also noted that LRA is getting back-up from Khartoum. “Yes, there is Sudanese Army (a traditional friend of LRA) and they still are having this connection. In fact LRA is re-grouping and gaining intensive training in Sudan, they are training in Dimo in Southern Darfur. This is fact is known to the intelligence community – in the area of Kaskagi in the northwest of Darfur.

The spokesman said he is sure that LRA leader Joseph Kony is still alive but his whereabouts in Sudan are unknown: “He is still alive and I don’t know where he is now.”

SPLA operations in Western Equatoria State (WES) have been reinforced, said Kuol, “that is why operation of LRA have become minimal” there. Morale is high, he said. With the shifting of the LRA to Darfur, SPLA is now reinforcing its forces further to the north, in Western Bahr-El-Ghazal. “We are reinforcing our forces and definitively we will combat them,” said the general.

Kuol stated: “Of course, I don’t have a message to those who supported terrorism, which is an international crime. My message to our people is that Sudan People’s Liberation Army stands to protect them as we did in the last period of our struggle, and I believe that we will defeat LRA.”

In a recent Southern Sudan military council, the issue of the LRA was one of the top agenda items discussed, Kuol said.

Other militias based in Northern Sudan are undergoing training from the Khartoum government, according to officials. These militias’ commanders are based in Khartoum, including Thomas Al-Nuor, General Gordon Kony, and General Tangnyang.

“The aim of militia training is of course to paralyze security in Southern Sudan as they always previously had been doing. And definitively we will combat them. Some of these militias are unhappy with staying there in Khartoum and some are secretly talking to Southern Sudanese with the aim of joining the Southern Sudan army.”

LRA is in its dying stages, now that SPLA is a modern Military with modern inteligent equipment, there is no survival of LRA in South Sudan. Kony has only two decisions to make GIVE UP OR ESCAPE TO KHARTOUM and leave South Sudan to enjoy peace that it deserves.

This Ugandan rebels and terrorist groups called LRA, they will feel the heat in their behind, Also the LRA is now in southern Darfur, the international community needs to be aware to avoid killing and kidnaping of aid workers, the two French aid workers that were kidnapped in the region, now there is very credibale evidence which show they have been kidnapped by LRA forces backed by Sudanese security from Khartoum. the Sudan security is now using LRA to threatened one the UN forces in Darfur and second to threaten the EU forces in Chad and Cnetral Africa, the Sudanese securiy main target from what we know is now the French who they blame for supporting Chad and Darfur rebels, so they are now training and using the terrorist rebels of LRA to kidnap, it is a real mess now, you do not know who is who as Sudan security and intelligence are now supporting LRA to kidnap aid workers and kill civilians, this information has been leaked from LRA rebel officers who have been captured and undergoing interrogation.

I can not approciates becuase it is about killing but,I can say a good lesson to them (LRA).

God is the final judger,LRA can be coaght and sentence to life in preson.

I believes those killed on the course of tracking them but not intentional killing, otherwise we could considerd those involve as murderers becuase LRA is known world wide of thier wrong diong. That is why ICC issued warrant arrest of LRA 5 top commanders including those died.

However our southern sudanese becamtarget of LRA since they started thier movement through influence from Khartoum government no much blame becuase they crossed border and operated in our home without premision.

I personaly witnessed the operation of the LRA when I was in refugee camp in certain place called Moyo in Uganda.Thier main objective was to sweep awy sudanese refugee in Northern Uganda so that Maseveni doesnot get support from Southern Sudan movement SPLA then.

If LRA did not mistake by killing of southern Sudanese, then they could succeed thier movement early becuase by 1997-1999,they captured mojar towns in northern Uganda.

Whom will you blame you were crossed borders that is consequences thier bad activeties.

Andican concluded by saying let the SPLA stand strong that movement is geting suppots some where, fight them to cut thier coordination.

LRA is Ugangda rebel and they are friend to bashir in previous day and everyone know that while SPLA are friend to UPDF led by Museveni. If u like to blame then why don,t you blame Uganda goverment for the death of Garang.
we Equatorians are peacefull people but we can,t allow anyone to put blame on us. its normally great to know some one who hates you.
    Take care internet people
