December 25, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — The Vice President of Southern Sudan government slammed wrong statics by national TV about the number of Christian, adding Christian are the faster growing population in the country.

Dr. Riek Machar on Friday attends the Christmas Celebrations in Bentiu, Unity State, where more than five thousand people packed the church hall as they marked the day Jesus Chris was born.

“This is a day Jesus Chris was born and this is the day we all should remember.” he told the cheering congregations.

According to Machar, Sudan TV yesterday said, Christians in the Sudan are only 17%. “This statistic does not only ignore the right populations, but it’s completely unscientific and ill researched. It should not be considered.”

“The Christian are the fasters growing populations in the Sudan today. If they are sincere, they will find that, more than 70% are Christian in this country,” he said.

Machar further urged Christians in Sudan to work to correct such false data. “Christian populations in the Sudan must reflect the right statistics and it must be you who should take that initiative to tell the world the right population.”

The fifth census questionnaire omitted to mention the religion of counted people. The SPLM refused this omission but Khartoum said it followed recommendation of UN experts.

Dr. Machar who returned from Khartoum on Friday to celebrate Christmas in Bentiu is also expected to travel back to Khartoum on Sunday to witness the national parliament’s discussions on and passage of Southern Sudan referendum bill and popular consultations for Southern Kordufan and Southern Blue Nile states.

I think SudanTV should and must give Christain their chance to let people hear their word which is ” Love Your Neighbor” which is a good message for all. For all who think secession would be the end of all suffering , well it is not! it is when we have love and respect for eachother . Sorry !!breaching..I had to…again forgive me this message only for the one’s without love in their heart for their Neighbors.

Absolutely Dr you know the truth. South Sudan is 95% christain accept that we have 5% poor dinkas islamic in Bor. In the northern Sudan there is around 60% christain to 40% Islamic. I agree with your Dr Riek Future president in the Government of South Sudan not Government of sick services GOSS. South Sudan deserve to be under leadership of doctor or honourable not puppies who are hungry for money. Those who present the fake satistic are purely dinkas, Bona, Alier, Francise and Alor are behind the misleading information. Alor is meant to represent SPLA in the central islamic government (foreign minsiter), yet he is silent like a coward man in fact dinkas are. Those above mentional people were also behind the false inform that Dr Reik has resigned from GOSS.

Riek Machar is idiot who worship Ngundeen idiot Stan stick in his own hut.

Complaining about the perecatage of christianity in the South is nothing than updating the citiens of Unity state about the progess of SPLM.

It is obvious that South is more than 80% christainity, this is how pro-Arab adressed congregations.

see 15,000 to more than 30,000 people celebrating the birth of our Saviour. it means that rest are ngundeeng and wurnyang idols satans.
    Thanks

    Bor-Dinka community, ooops!

Don’t cry yet my dear. Those poor so-called generals of Bor deserved to be dismissed and retired like chickens in that way. Garang promoted them while in refugee camps for the purpose of controlling the institutions they knew nothing about. Kiir is right to have dismissed the 7 of them this week. That was a christmas gift to southerners who yearn for positive change!!! What goes around comes around. And the biggest dismissal and retirement is soon to follow after 2011. Enjoy the beginning of change, dude…..

How many wives does this guy have? I know one is dead for sure but I learned of another one in MN, USA. Polygamy is not practiced in the US as far as I can tell (with the exception of Mormons).
