Unity Governor dismiss laying ambush against intellectuals

December 30, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — Brigadier Taban Deng Gai, Governor Unity State, strongly dismissed having laid an ambush against any group of people from the area on 24 December, 2009.
“For what reason am I accused to have laid an ambush against my own people, what have they done and who are they” in reference to people who allegedly reported an ambush attack by governor Taban, he posed saying he has no idea of the reported attack.
“Why should I lay an ambush against my own people, civilian as said, my intellectuals, and people under my direct authority instead of asking them to come to me for discussions lest they have something to discuss with me as their governor,” he posed.
Governor Taban further strongly denied to have been involved in the alleged attack.
“No. I have not attacked anybody,” he reiterated saying that he spent the whole of Christmas break with Dr. Riek Machar, Vice President of the government of Southern Sudan till he left on 27.
“And I do not remember having gone out to lay an ambush, please find out what exactly happened,” he commented.
William Twil, a state governor Advisor on peace and reconciliation also denied having heard any attack allegedly reported to have been organized by the state governor.
“Governor Taban has never moved out of his residence before and during Christmas because he was attending to guests till they left, he said. His guards too were with him providing security to the guests and none of them went out as well,” he adds.
He also said an ambush is laid against an enemy, were these people attacking unity state civil population, government officials , why should they be ambushed by a governor, what did they do and why has it not been heard in the area from where the information about the incident was given out to the media.
Similarly, Benjamin Majak, an MP representing Bienhom constituency, Unity State, in Juba based assembly, had this to say, I have never heard any incident allegedly organized by Governor. I just have finished talking with one of our SPLM secretariats in Bentiu but he never mentioned such incident. I am sorry if it has happened, Benjamin said.

Please who are the source of this rumor? You just wrote about denial by Taban Deng Gai and his Advisor but who are those that accused Taban of laying ambush?
Please be a professional journalist. I guess the news was fabricated by non other than yourself. How come you write news without a source? Damn, Sudantribune editor should not have posted it without the source of the accuser.
This is just an ittempt to make some noisy news about Unity state. There was nothing as ambush in the first place.

Benjamin Majak Dau as a MP, is not representing Biemnom County. Biemnom County is a county of Dinka Ruweng. Therefore, Benjamin Majak Dau is representing Dinka Panaruu not Dinka Ruweng of Biemnom County. So, Mr Ngor Arol Garang, if you are a journalist, then you should have to know exactly the different between Dinka Ruweng of Biemnom County and Dinka Panaruu of Panrieng County. Benjamin Majak Dau is not representing Biemnom County of Dinka Ruweng. The one who is representing Biemnom County is Arop Yuot Kamaan.

First of all, most of us are not in America or Australia ,we are all in South we know what happening day and night the reporter missed one thing this incident happened on date 27/12/2009 around 4pm when vice president of GOSS left the state ,governor Taban carried an ambush on Nhialdiu road against SPLM State secretary Tor Tunguar Kueigong .when his body guards ignored killing him (Tor)Taban forced himself and fought SPLM secretary which is very shame for a leader to fight some body.
